    • A pallet includes a loading member made from paper onto which a load is loaded; leg members made from paper which are fixed to the loading member and, as well as supporting the loading member when a load is loaded on the loading member, form an insert body receiving member into which is inserted an insert body used during transportation; and a base member made from paper which is fixed to the opposite side of the leg members to the loading member. A load is loaded onto the loading member of this type of pallet and is intermediately packaged with intermediate packaging material in a process including a load loading step for loading the load onto the loading member; an intermediate packaging step for intermediately packaging the top surface and side surfaces of the load loaded onto the loading member with the intermediate packaging material; and a fastening step for fastening the intermediate packaging material with which the load was intermediately packaged in the intermediate packaging step to the loading member.

    • A pallet includes a pair of rails with inner side surfaces that have mortises formed therein near their top surface and are arranged facing each other. Load deck boards extend between the rails and have ends that substantially correspond to the mortises. The boards are inserted into the mortises to form a mortise joint. Fixing members formed of integral legs conform to the outer surfaces of the rails. A flange extends from each leg along its length and in a direction such that one of the flanges can be inserted into a longitudinal groove formed in an outer side surface of a rail and another flange can be inserted into another corresponding groove that is formed in the top surface of the rail and in the boards, thus securing the boards to the rails. The flanges of the fixing member are removable from the grooves, and the boards are removable from the mortises to permit disassembly of the pallet.

    • A modular pallet is made up of plural injection molded plastic pallet members, each of which has a plurality of posts spaced apart from each other and depending from a deck portion of the pallet member. The pallet members may be rectangular, square or of irregular shape but operable to provide either a square or rectangular shaped pallet when arranged in predetermined patterns in opposing deck sections of the pallet. The pallet members have cooperating projections and recesses formed in respective ones of the posts and the pallet members of one deck section overlie and interlock with at least two pallet members of the other deck section. Releasable fasteners comprising deflectable tines may be projected through openings in the cooperating projections and recesses of each pallet member to secure the pallet members of the opposing deck sections to each other to form the assembled modular pallet. The pallets may be square or rectangular and made up of plural identical pallet members in each deck section or no more than two different pallet members used to form a deck section.

    • A spacer for loading pallets comprises a tubular member having a number of pointed securing tabs (3a) adapted to penetrate into and connect the tubular member to a deck-forming member of the loading pallet, and a number of support members (3) extending at a right angle to the securing tabs and being formed, like the securing tabs, in one piece with the tubular member. The spacer is prepared from a thin-walled sheet metal portion, which has been given a polygonal tubular shape in cross section by axially extending bending zones (7) located in border areas between securing tabs (3a) and support members (3). Each tube wall portion (12) defined by two adjacent bending zones (7) and associated to a supporting member (3) extends at an angle to two other adjacent tube wall portions (12) located on opposite sides thereof.
