    • A rotary head type digital signal reproducing apparatus controls tracking of rotary magnetic heads based on tracking reference signals obtained in an end portion of a first scan and in a beginning portion of a second scan immediately after the first scan, out of successive first through fourth scans made by the rotary magnetic heads with respect to two mutually adjacent tracks on the magnetic tape, when playing the magnetic tape which has been recorded in a half-speed mode. In the half-speed mode, a rotational speed of the rotary magnetic heads and a tape transport speed of the magnetic tape are set to speed which are one-half those in a standard mode. But when playing on the reproducing apparatus the magnetic tape which has been recorded in the half-speed mode, only the tape transport speed is set identical to that in the half-speed mode, and the rotational speed of the rotary magnetic heads is set identical to that in the standard mode.

    • The intrusion detection system of the invention, in which three pyroelectric detectors are disposed in line with a interval and an adjoining two of the three pyroelectric detectors are electrically connected to cancel electrical charges generated by each pyroelectric detector, detects intrusion of an infrared ray radiating object such as a human body for example by output signals outputted from the adjoining two and the other of the three pyroelectric detectors or by output signals outputted from the pyroelectric detector disposed at the center and adjoining one and output signals outputted from the one disposed at the center and adjoining another one of these pyroelectric detectors, so that precise and secure intrusion detection is possible by reducing erroneous signals generated by those pyroelectric detectors due to variation of the atmospheric temperature and the like.

    • An automatic tuning apparatus comprising a tuner having a tank circuit employing a voltage controlled variable capacitance diode as a circuit element, which diode is supplied in the reverse direction with a scanning control voltage from a solid state potential memory device, which control voltage is varied under the control of a scanning voltage control circuit to scan the frequencies in the frequency band by the tuner and is set by a scan stop signal obtained from the tuner as a result of tuning of the tuner to a certain frequency, and a pair of manual switches for upward and downward scanning, a first flip-flop to be reset by the closing of either manual switch and to be set by the scan stop signal, a second flip-flop to be set and reset by the closing of the downward and upward scanning switches, respectively, a third flip-flop to be set and reset by the closing of both manual switches and caused to be reversed in the storing state thereof when the scanning voltage reaches the maximum or minimum value thereof, the said scanning voltage control circuit being controlled by the logical combination of the storing state of these flip-flops such that the frequency is scanned gradually in the direction as selected by the manual switch but rapidly in the direction not selected by the switch.
