    • Valves (36) for connecting fuel supplies (40) to a device are disclosed. The fuel supplies can be a pressurized or non-pressurized cartridge that can be used with any device, such as fuel cells or fuel refilling apparatus. The valve (36) includes face seals (64) to minimize the amount of fuel remaining in the valve when the fuel supply is separated from the device. In one embodiment, the valve includes deformable members including sealing surfaces, where the flow paths through the valve are sealed and unsealed by the deformation of the deformable members. In another embodiment, the female valve component includes a shortened body to limit the volume of fuel remaining in the valve.     • A solenoid valve for a brake system is provided to facilitate assembly of the solenoid valve by fixing a flange of a sleeve combined to the outer surface of the valve core to a modulator directly and assembling the valve core to the sleeve through combination between a groove and tongue. A solenoid valve for a brake system comprises a cylindrical valve core(40), a sleeve(70), an armature(80), an exciting coil(93), a valve sheet(50), a plunger(60), a returning spring(62), and a filter member(20). The valve core has a through-hole and a radial path connected to the through-hole. The sleeve is fixed to the outer surface of the valve core and has a dome-like closing part(71) and a flange part(72) fixed to a modulator block(100). The armature moves back and forth in the sleeve. The exciting coil moves the armature back and forth. The valve sheet is fixed in the valve core and has a first orifice(51). The plunger opens and shuts off the first orifice installed in the valve core. The return spring presses the plunger to the armature. The filter member surrounds the outer surface and end portion of the valve core and has filter portions(26,27), a second orifice(24) purifying oil, and a check valve(30) allowing backflow of the oil after brake. The filter member further includes a peripheral part(21) and a support part(22). The peripheral part surrounds the outer surface of the valve core and has the filter portion. The support part is located at the end of the valve core and has a coupled path connected to the through-hole. The valve core is provided with a groove for combination with the sleeve. The sleeve is provided with a tongue(73) hooked in the groove.

    • PURPOSE: A steam supplying valve is provided to secure the combination of a control valve and a stop valve with optimal flow characteristic by mounting a bleed opening and a balance chamber for quickly closing the control valve. CONSTITUTION: A steam valve has a fast-acting stop valve(19) and a control valve(17) acting against a valve seat(21) in a steam flow passage in a closed position. An outlet passage below the valve seat has transition walls for supplying a smooth and continuous flow passing the seat into an outlet and accordingly the losses of head are reduced. An annular screen(54) near the valve has a support structure recessed in the walls of the inlet to reduce flow blockage and vortex formation. A balance chamber(60) disposed above the control valve has a bleed hole(62) for equalizing steam pressure in the balance chamber and steam valve, inhibits depressurization of the balance chamber, and facilitates fast closing of the control valve. Buttress threads(66) interconnect a control valve stem and a control valve head to preclude binding of the parts caused by oxide buildup.
