    • PURPOSE: A continuously variable transmission of a vehicle is provided to prevent a vehicle from going astern when the vehicle restarts on a slope way after stopping as well as to improve fuel efficiency. CONSTITUTION: A continuously variable transmission of a vehicle comprises a powder clutch(3), a planetary gear set(13), a forward clutch(FC), a reverse brake(RB), a primary pulley(23), a secondary pulley(31), an one way clutch(OWC1) and a forward brake. The powder clutch is combined to an engine. The planetary gear set is connected to an input shaft(5) of the powder clutch. The planetary gear set adjusts a rotating direction to forward or reverse. The forward clutch and the reverse brake adjust elements of the planetary gear set. The primary pulley is connected to one element of the planetary gear by a primary shaft(27). The secondary pulley is connected to the primary pulley by a belt(29). The one way clutch and the forward brake fix adjustably the input shaft or the primary shaft to a transmission case(7). Thereby, going astern is prevented by fixing the input shaft or the primary shaft.

    • PURPOSE: A continuously variable transmission for preventing slip is provided to reduce the abrasion caused by the slip and to improve the durability of the continuously variable transmission by reducing the slip between a belt and a pulley during travel. CONSTITUTION: Slip preventive pins(15,16,17) are attached to each ring-shaped metal plate(18,19,20) at a certain interval. The ring-shaped metal plates are divided into four portions in each circle. The force of fluid like oil entering through an oil inlet hole(7) inside an input shaft(1) or an output shaft is calculated. The accurate timing of a slip preventive pin position sensor(11) and a belt groove position sensor(12) is calculated. Then one of the divided four portions is coupled with shift pulleys(2) having holes corresponding to the slip preventive pins. Therefore, slip is perfectly prevented between a belt and the pulley so that the abrasion caused by the slip is reduced and the durability of the pulley is enhanced.

The clutches and the brake adjust several elements of the planetary gear set. The continuously variable transmission belt apparatus connects a primary pulley(25) and a secondary pulley(27) with a belt. The belt apparatus shifts outputs of the first, the second and the reverse gears of the planetary gears by releasing an operation selectively of the friction element.
