The seal includes a profiled elastomeric seal ring(6) which is fixed in the thread undercut(7) of the tie rod shaft. The seal ring is press-fit to a hole(12) of a sub assembly(2) by the screwing of the tie rod thread and the geometry of the circumference of the tie rod shaft and the sub assembly hole.

    • A metal gasket and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to prevent erroneous assembly by easily detecting incorrect selection of direction, front and rear surfaces, and lamination sequence of metal plates through unfitting between positioning protrusions and positioning holes in case of erroneous assembly. A metal gasket(1) is formed by laminating three metal plates(10,20,30). The first metal plate has a plurality of positioning holes(5a), at least one of which has a shape without including the other positioning holes when the positioning holes are overlapped with each other with respect to a predetermined direction determined according to a planar shape of the gasket. The second metal plate is laminated under the first metal plate and has a plurality of positioning protrusions fitted to the positioning holes of the first metal plate, in positions opposite to the positioning holes of the first metal plate, wherein the positioning protrusion gets smaller as going upward. The third metal plate is laminated on the first metal plate and has a plurality of positioning holes smaller than those of the first metal plate to be fitted to the positioning protrusions protruded from the overlapped positioning holes, in positions overlapped with the positioning holes of the first metal plate.
