    • PURPOSE: An electrical-hydraulic variable valve lift device is provided to control a valve lift depending on the operating state of an engine and make right operation regardless of tolerance caused when producing. CONSTITUTION: An electrical-hydraulic variable valve lift device comprises a housing(10), a driving cam(20), a pump piston(30), an elastic unit(34), an oil-pressure control unit(40), a hydraulic piston(50), and a piston guide(60). The pump piston reciprocates in the housing according to the rotation of a driving cam and forms fluid pressure in a main chamber. The oil-pressure control unit is communicated with the main chamber and controls fluid pressure in the main chamber. The hydraulic piston is formed to be able to slide in the housing according to the fluid pressure of the main chamber.

    • [PROBLEMS] A direct-action valve lifter having reduced number of parts and simple structure and capable of being switched to high lift and low lift. [MEANS FOR SOLVING PROBLEMS] The valve lifter is interposed between a cam and a valve stem. The cam (20) has a high lift cam (22) and low lift cams (24) integrated together, and the valve lifter (30) has a side lifter (32) slidingly in contact with a low lift cam, a center lifter (40) slidingly in contact with a high lift cam, and a hydraulic means (hydraulic path)(11b) for sliding the center lifter (40) in order to switch the amount of valve lift between two stages of high and low. A slit (33) for causing the high lift cam to strike at the air is provided at the top of a cylindrical lifter body so that the lifter body functions as the side lifter (32) having low lift cam sliding contact surfaces (32a). A hole (34) orthogonal to the slit (33) is provided in the lifter body, and the piston-type center lifter (40) slid by hydraulic pressure is provided in the hole (34). When the center lifter (40) is at a position corresponding (not corresponding) to the slit (33), it is a high (low) lift mode. In the valve lifter, the number of parts is reduced and the structure is simple, a dimentional tolerance required for each part is relaxed, and work for assembling each part is simplified.

    • PURPOSE: The cup is hard ended in a heat treatment process and the inner part is unhardened in order to eliminate the processing of the cup. CONSTITUTION: A valve tappet actuated by the cam of an internal combustion engine is made up iron-metal materials, and comprises of a base(3) which closes the end of the shell(2), an inner part(6), and an oil chamber. On the exterior, the shell(2) has a peripheral groove(4) and, on the interior, it is provided with at least one bead(5,21). Disposed concentrically inside the cup(1) is an inner part(6) of which the casing(9) abuts the bead(5,21). An oil chamber is located between the casing(9) and the shell(2), and makes oil channels, and a hydraulic valve clearance compensating element (10) is guided in an axially movable manner inside the inner part (6).
