    • PURPOSE: A behavior control device of a vehicle is provided to prevent such an unstable state of the vehicle as roll vibration and pitch vibration and to effectively prevent roll of the vehicle. The vehicle has a vehicle speed sensor(38) detecting the vehicle speed; a yaw rate sensor(40) detecting a yaw rate of the vehicle; a front and rear acceleration sensor detecting the front and rear acceleration of the vehicle; a transverse acceleration sensor(44) detecting the transverse acceleration of the vehicle; a pitch rate sensor(46) detecting a pitch rate of the pitch and a roll rate sensor(48) detecting a roll rate of the vehicle.

    • PURPOSE: A controller for vehicular safety device is provided which selectively actuate at least one vehicular safety device when a sudden change in acceleration, pitch angle or roll angle of a vehicle is detected. CONSTITUTION: The controller(10) comprises a sensor device(20) and a control device(22). A sensor device senses a plurality of parameters including acceleration, pitch and roll angles of the vehicle and generates a corresponding plurality of digital signals representing each such parameter. A control device comprises a control signal generator device including control logic circuitry to receive the plurality of digital signals and to generate a control signal corresponding to each such parameter when the corresponding digital signal exceeds a predetermined value. A safety device actuator signal generator device includes actuator logic circuitry to receive the control signals and to generate a corresponding actuator signal to actuate the corresponding vehicular safety device(12,14, or16).
