    • A method and an apparatus for processing a surface of a substrate is provided to enhance efficiency of imprinting process by simultaneously performing light irradiation and heat treatment in the imprinting process. A substrate(110) is fixed to an upper surface of a support, and then a resist is applied onto the substrate. A mold(200) having a mold pattern(210) with plural protrusions is positioned adjacent to a surface of the substrate. The mold is pressed against the resist to imprint the mold pattern, while removing gas generated from the resist. Finally, the resist is detached from the mold. The step of imprinting the mold pattern includes irradiating light onto surfaces of the mold and resist, and applying heat to the resist.
