According to the detected information of the distance, the safe distance of an own car is controlled and the irradiation angle of a headlamp beam is calculated. The irradiation angle of the headlamp beam is regulated according to the calculated value. Thus, the distance between a car moving ahead and an own car is outputted by calculating a radio generated time, a received time and a propagation velocity of a radio wave. Therefore, the safety on night driving is provided because the irradiation angle of a headlamp beam is regulated automatically according to the distance between a car moving ahead and an own car.
