    • PURPOSE: A process for producing solid preparations of water-soluble, sparingly water-soluble or water-insoluble active compounds, and liquid, oil-miscible carotenoid formulations which are suitable, in the animal nutrition sector for applying to feed pellets are provided. CONSTITUTION: The process for producing solid preparations of at least one water-soluble, sparingly water-soluble or water-insoluble active compound suitable for the food and animal feed sectors or for pharmaceutical and cosmetic applications comprises the steps of a) dissolving or dispersing at least one of the above-mentioned active compounds in an aqueous molecular dispersion or colloidal dispersion of a proteinaceous protecting colloid, b) flocculating the proteinaceous protecting colloid together with the active compound out of the dispersion and c) separating off the flocculated solid from the water and any solvents additionally used and subsequently converting them into a dry powder. An oily suspension comprising, as disperse phase, at least one water-soluble, sparingly water-soluble or water-insoluble active compound which is enclosed by one or more protecting colloids and is suitable for the food and animal feed sectors or for pharmaceutical and cosmetic applications, with the proviso that the oily suspension comprises no water-soluble vitamins. The process for producing a carotenoid-containing oily suspension comprises a) grinding a dry powder comprising at least one carotenoid enclosed by one or more protecting colloids in at least one oil to a mean particle size of from 0.1 to 100 micrometers or b) grinding a dry powder comprising at least one carotenoid enclosed by one or more protecting colloids without using a continuous phase to a mean particle size of from 0.1 to 100 micrometers and then suspending the ground particles in at least one oil or c) grinding a carotenoid-containing suspension comprising, as solid phase, at least one carotenoid enclosed by one or more protecting colloids and, as dispersion medium, water or a mixture of water and a water-miscible solvent to a mean particle size of from 0.1 to 100 micrometers, then freeing the solid phase from the water or water/solvent mixture and suspending the resultant ground particles in at least one oil.

    • PURPOSE: A method for manufacturing fish feed that is tubular soft particle shaped to be floated with air and nutritions therein is provided to serve a high functional fish feed rising to the surface of water repeatedly and promoting growth of fish. CONSTITUTION: The method includes the following steps of: (i) collecting and refining intestines of squid and adding black feed additives containing abundant amino acid and ω3- unsaturated fatty acid to the cleared intestines; (ii) filling the mixed materials in a bin and forming the feed materials to have an air chamber where air is injeccted forcibly therein by extruding the materials; (iii) passing the formed tubular soft particle type of feed through a screen belt not to be stuck to each other to evaporate the outer moisture; (iv) coating the resulting tubular soft particle type of feed with fat and oil to protect the air chamber inside the tubular feed; and then (v) passing the coated feed through the screen drying belt to be hardened.
