    • PURPOSE: A hunting preventing method of a diesel engine under key off of an ignition switch is provided to prevent vibration of the vehicle body, and to improve the quality of the product by restricting noise and hunting of the engine under key off of the ignition switch with applying the throttle flap to the intake manifold. CONSTITUTION: To prevent the diesel engine from hunting, the key-off is decided in stopping the vehicle while running the engine(110,120). RPM(Revolutions Per Minute) of the engine is reduced under key off of the ignition switch(130). The power latch of an ECU of the vehicle is operated for the predetermined time(140). A throttle solenoid valve is actuated for the predetermined time(150). A throttle flap is turned at 90 angular degrees by pulling the rod of the throttle valve actuator with forming vacuum in the throttle valve, and the throttle solenoid valve is closed. The throttle solenoid valve is opened by restoring the throttle flap with the return spring in losing negative pressure from engine stall.

If the intake air temperature exceeds the predetermined reference temperature, the EGR duty control value is set to "0"(S106), thereby preventing exhaust gas from flowing into a combustion chamber.
