    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a hard disk drive which can precisely control the floating height of the magnetic head while completely preventing the magnetic head damages due to the contact with the magnetic recording medium, and also to provide a hard disk drive and a floating height adjusting method of the magnetic head.
      SOLUTION: This manufacturing method provides for a hard disk drive incorporating a magnetic recording medium and a head gimbal assembly 20 having a magnetic head 3 facing the magnetic recording medium to record and reproduce information. It includes a step of detecting the contact of the magnetic recording medium and the magnetic head 3 with the sensor 2 attached to the head gimbal assembly 20, and adjusting the head floating height by using the adjusting mechanism to control the floating height of the magnetic head 3 on the magnetic recording medium.

The conductor layer 6 and the other electrode 12 are respectively connected to wirings 42, 44 for driving the piezoelectric element provided on the head suspension, the wiring being connected to the conductor layer of the piezoelectric element and the electrode of the other piezoelectric element.

The magnetic head 142 fitting a reinforcing plate 146 of a flexible printed circuit board 145 is placed on the adhesive and the head height, the angle division and the protrusion, etc., are adjusted while observing the head 142 by a microscope, etc. While the accurately positionally adjusted magnetic head 142 is held in its posture, the adhesive 144a is cured by irradiation of ultraviolet rays and is fitted to the tip of the bimorph 141 via an adhesive layer 144. Consequently, the productivity and yield are enhanced without necessity of ranking the head height.
