The caulking and fixing part 52 has an annular protrusion 61 for caulking and fixing the second side face part 35 through thrust deformation, and the second side face part 35 has a groove 38 formed between a tooth portion 33 of the ring gear 12 and the caulking and fixing part 52 annularly around a rotation axis while being recessed in the direction of the rotation axis.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a constant velocity universal joint in which play at a shaft connection portion is less likely to occur and having a spigot-socket fitting structure capable of firmly connecting an inner joint member and a shaft together. SOLUTION: The constant velocity universal joint includes an outer joint member, the inner joint member inserted into the outer joint member and a torque transmitting member disposed between the outer joint member and the inner joint member so as to transmit torque. The constant velocity universal joint has the spigot-socket fitting structure M by which the inner joint member and the shaft 5 inserted and fitted in a shaft hole of the inner joint member are connected together. A hardened layer S by induction hardening is formed on the outer diameter side of the inner joint member. The inner diameter side of the inner joint member is in an unquenched state. A projection 35 arranged on the outer diameter surface of the shaft 5 and a depression 36 arranged on the inner diameter surface of the shaft hole 22 of the inner joint member and fitting on the projection 35, are in intimate contact with each other in their entire regions at a fitting and contact portion 38.     • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To smoothly and highly accurately fasten a bolt member, in a bearing device for a wheel of a type of allowing separation between a hub ring and a joint outer ring.SOLUTION: A shaft part 12 of the joint outer ring 5 provided with a projection part extending in the axial direction, is pressed in a hole part 22 of the hub ring 1, and a recessed part is formed by the projection part on an inner diameter surface of a shaft part fitting hole 22a of the hub ring 1, to thereby constitute a recess-projection fitting structure M for bringing the fitting part whole area of the projection part and the recessed part into close contact with each other. The bolt member 50 is fastened to a bolt hole 13 arranged in a shaft part 12 of the joint outer ring 5 after constituting the recess-projection fitting structure M, to thereby regulate separation between the hub ring 1 and the joint outer ring 5. Concentricity of the bolt hole 13 to the projection part is regulated as a dimension control object for fastening the bolt member 50, and an allowable value of 0.1 mm or less is imparted as this concentricity.
