    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a document transport device with which an operator is prevented from erroneously rotating a stamp unit during jam processing and during cleaning of a rear device and stamp replacement performance can be improved even in the document transport device with end face reference.SOLUTION: A document transport device includes: document loading means; separation feeding means; transport means; discharge means; and a transport device body for supporting them. The transport device body is supported by an image forming apparatus body so as to be freely opened/closed. The document transport device also includes: a stamp 59 which is arranged on a downstream side in a document transport direction rather than a reading position and stamps a read completion mark on a document which is read; and a stamp unit 55 which is movably supported by the transport device body and detachably supports the stamp 59. The transport device body is opened from the image forming apparatus body, and the stamp unit 55 is moved to a first direction and moved to a second direction which is a device operator side to attach/detach the stamp 59.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and method for guiding a label of a portable label printing and attaching machine, which increases the number of type digits of a printer, and also increases a type size, by printing even on both of right and left edges of a label web (label without a mounting) covered with label guiding pieces.SOLUTION: The label guiding pieces 52 pressing the label web 3 for guiding are remarkably arranged to be evacuated in a direction of side plates 2 during printing. The label guiding pieces 52 includes: supporting portions 53 arranged along a transferring path 41; elastic portions 54 elastically deformable in a direction to approach to and separate from the supporting portion 53; and guiding portions 55 pressing the label web 3 at the front ends of elastic portions 54, respectively. When the printer 7 prints on the label web 3, it abuts on the elastic portions 54 of the guiding pieces 52 to thrust the guide 55 toward the side plates 2.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect the length in the feeding direction of a sheet of paper being sent and detect the sending of a sheet of paper that is shorter or longer in length than a preset length of a sheet of paper so as to prevent the sending of a sheet of paper of an abnormal shape or double sending thereof with high accuracy. SOLUTION: Disposed are a paper sending sensor 2 having a slit disc having a diameter much greater than that of the feeding roller 18 designed to rotate interlockingly with the rotation of a feeding roller 18 and detect the feeding amount of a sheet of paper 5 by the feeding roller 18 and having a slit disc 58 having a diameter much greater than that of the feeding roller 18 and a paper confirmation paper 3 for detecting the existence of a sheet of paper 5 to be fed, whereby a sheet of paper 5 whose feeding amount is different from a predetermined feeding amount is detected with high accuracy by detecting the feeding amount of a sheet of paper 5 by the paper sending sensor 2 while its existence is being detected by the paper confirmation sensor 3.

    • PURPOSE:To provide a mail processing device which can clearly recognize display of a processing factor and display of a jamming spot. CONSTITUTION:A mail processing device 1 is formed such that a feeding means by which quantities of mails having various thicknesses and widths are fed, a selecting means 5 by which a rigid mail is discharged, and a stamping means by which mails after selection by the selecting means 5 are orderly arranged and stamped are intercoupled. The mail processing device is provided with a jam detecting means by which the jam of each means is detected and display means 15 which are arranged in a plurality of spots and by which the processing factor of each means is displayed and jamming of some means detected by the jam detecting means is displayed. This constitution facilitates recognition of the processing factor of mails, facilitates specifying of a jammed spot when an jam occurs, and takes a rapid measure to restore the jam.
