摘要： PURPOSE: To provide a torque converter formed from a four-element torque converter equipped with an improved lockup clutch, whereby a transmission gearing device can be driven directly without requiring a third input shaft by driving the primary and the secondary turbine input shaft directly from the input shaft of the torque converter. CONSTITUTION: For the direct drive or lockup operation, a fluid conduit between the first transmission input shaft 16 and the second transmission input shaft 17 opens for fluid exhaust, and working waves are supplied to fluid conduit between a stator shaft 20 and a converter hub 21. Then both the first 8 and second clutch elements 14 are moved left in the axial direction in the amount which allows a friction material 15 fixed to the secondary clutch element 14 to be engaged with the inner wall 19 of a torque converter cover 2. If therein the pressure to the primary clutch element 8 is sufficient, a lockup drive hopping over the fluid joint of four-element torque converter is established. During the operation of the lockup drive, the rotation of the input shaft drives directly the first 16 and second input shafts 17 upon hopping over the fluid joint of four-element torque converter.

摘要： PURPOSE:To make an oil pressure regulating mechanism compact, by integrating a high pressure relief valve with a bypass valve. CONSTITUTION:When a vehicle is running, an upward force is applied to a pilot valve 94 by a piston 98 and a spring 95. When the pressure of a line P1 applied to a port 97 rises, the pilot valve 94 is pushed downward and a port 93 is opened and pressure oil is conducted from a chamber 91b to a line P0. A piston 91 is moved down by the difference between the pressure P1 and that in the chamber 91b to reduce the pressure P1. Then, the port 93 of the pilot valve 94 is closed to equilize the pressure P1 to that in the chamber 91b. The pressure of a line P13 is low and a piston 96 is at bottom dead center except when the vehicle is running. When the pressure of the line P1 rises to a relatively low set level, oil inside the piston 91 flows out to the line P0 through the port P93 and the pressure in the chamber 91b decreases. At that time, the piston 91 falls, a port 97 communicates with a port 98 and the function of the bypass valve is fulfilled.
