    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drive unit for a bicycle improved in bicycle assembling workability, reduced in weight and also improved in inside sealing performance.
      SOLUTION: A case frame 20 of the drive unit for the bicycle has divided first and second case members 31, 32; a crankshaft 21 has first and second rotating support parts to be supported on each of the case members free to rotate, and first and second crank installation parts respectively projected both outward in the second direction through the case frame from the first and second rotating support parts; a front sprocket 22 is installed on the crankshaft between the first and second rotating support parts impossible to rotate; and a rear hub shaft 23 is arranged with an interval in the second direction on the second end side of the case member, and it becomes a shaft having third and fourth rotating support parts supported on each of the case member free to rotate and a wheel installing part free to install a rear wheel by projecting outward in the axial direction through the first case member from the third rotating support part.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the conformity in structure and design with a chain case and the assembling productibility of a chain by dividing a right side chain stay part comprising the chain case, into an upper stay and a lower stay, and circularly mounting the same. SOLUTION: A chain case is fitted to a right chain stay part 2a from the outside, and the upper and lower peripheral side faces bent inside of the chain case corresponding to an upper stay 2a1 and a lower say 2a2 of the right chain stay part 2a are connected with the upper stay 2al and the lower stay 2a2 to be mounted thereon by the screws. Not only the chain case can be firmly mounted, but also it can be utilized as the strengthening member of the right chain stay part 2a. Further a left chain stay part 2a is circularly formed in a state that an intermediate part thereof is divided into the upper and lower parts, and connected with a hanger part 6, so that an endless circular chain can be fitted inside thereof, and can be hanged on a crank gear as it is.
