    • PURPOSE:To obtain a water bottom traveling car, appropriate for dredging sludge, traveling as it gathers mud without disseminating sludge in the water by detachably equipping the water bottom traveling car with a buoyant force furnishing material and fitting mud suction ports on a pair of left and right rotary cylindrical bodies with respective blades whose spiral directions are opposite to each other. CONSTITUTION:A blade 2 is spirally fitted round a hollow cylindrical body 1 to form a rotary cylindrical body 3 with a blade. A pair of left and right cylindrical bodies 3 are provided, with respective axes in parallel with each other at a required interval, in the lower part of a car body 4. The spiral directions of blades 2 of the left and right cylindrical bodies 3 are opposite to each other and the blades are provided with the appropriate pitch so that the car body 4 advances at low speed in the direction of a forward movement when the grounding side of the cylinder 3 is turned inwardly. A pair of support rods 5, detachably equipped with a buoyant force furnishing material 6, are bridged on the upper part of the car body 4. A suction port 7 for the mud is fitted to the rear of the lower part of the body 4 so as to open to the inner side of an axis of the cylindrical body 3. Further, said port 7 is connected to a underwater pump 9 through a pipe 8 and sends the sucked mud into a discharge pipe 10 through a flexible hose.

Each wheel support leg 24 is made free of rotation in the longitudinal direction around a turning shaft 27, and when the wheel 21 hit on an obstacle 92 or the like, the wheel support leg 24 turns rearward in the traveling direction, whereby it gets over this obstacle 92, namely, it becomes shiftable freely. After clearing this obstacle 92, the wheel support legs 24 are restored in the original state by action of a return spring 35.

    • PURPOSE:To steer a machine body on a soft ground without damaging the ground in the state where the machine body is floated up, by carrying out advance and steering by driving the left and right crawler type traveling devices in pair in the state where the internal pressure in a sealed space of a machine body lifting-up member is increased and the grounded pressure of the whole machine body is reduced. CONSTITUTION:A machine body lifting-up member 23 having a sealed space S is installed over the whole periphery in the circumferential direction or over the nearly whole periphery of the lower part of the machine body, and the machine body is lifted up by the lifting-up member 23 by supplying the pressurized air into the sealed space S by a blower. The driving force in the horizontal direction is applied by the left and right crawler type traveling devices 7a in pair, and traveling is performed with the small grounded pressure of the machine body without liberating the air supplied for floating up the machine body to the ground side at all and without disturbing the peripheral ground by the blown air. Accordingly, it is enough only to apply the driving force in the horizontal direction in the steering of the machine body of the crawler type traveling device, and since traveling is performed by the small driving force, the surface pressure on the traveling ground which receives the weight of the whole machine body can be reduced, and the traveling is carried out without damaging the ground even on a soft ground.
