    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform crossing detection between an N-1-dimensional curved surface on an N-dimensional space and an N-dimensional rectangular parallelepiped at high speed.SOLUTION: An object retrieval device as one embodiment of the present invention includes: a query receiving part; and a collision decision part. The query receiving part receives a retrieval query specifying an N-1-dimensional curved surface on an N (N is an integer equal to or more than 3)-dimensional space. The collision decision part decides whether or not the N-1-dimensional curved surface to be specified by the retrieval query crosses the N-dimensional rectangular parallelepiped arranged on the N-dimensional space. The collision decision part includes a plurality of decision functions including zero-th to N-1-th decision functions for deciding whether or not at least a part of at least any of X (X is all integers of zero or more and N-1 or less)-dimensional surfaces is included in the N-1-dimensional curved surface, and decides the N-1-dimensional curved surface crosses the N-dimensional rectangular parallelepiped by using the plurality of decision functions.
