Further, in the shift position detecting device, the cam is placed inside the control case, a boss section with an axis line thereof orthogonal to the shift and select shaft and extending from a shaft center of the shift and select shaft toward the side of the case body section is formed in the control case, and the sensor is attached to the boss section such that a wiring connecting section of the sensor is close to the upper surface wall of the case body section.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve mountability on a vehicle by reducing a height from a mounting face A to a transmission 21.
      SOLUTION: A striker 6 is fitted to the outer periphery of a shift shaft 4 rotatably supported in a housing 2, so as to be axially movable and relatively non-rotatable. A ball nut 26 is fitted to a ball screw 20 arranged parallel to the shift shaft 4 and a protrusion 6b of the striker 6 engages with a groove 26a thereof. A sliding block 38 is supported on two guide rods 36 parallel to the shift shaft 4 and the protrusion 6b of the striker 6 engages with a groove 38a thereof. The block 38 is moved with the axial movement of the striker 6 and then a select sensor 40 detects the select position of the striker 6 via the position of the block 38. The shift shaft 4 and the ball screw 20 are both arranged in a plane parallel to the mounting face A of the transmission 21.
