    • A reverse input shutoff clutch in which an output side member is locked with respect to a reverse input torque makes it possible to obtain a stable clutch operation and to reduce the input torque necessary to rotate the output side member even under the use condition that the reverse input torque is constantly applied in a constant direction. A one-way clutch (14) is attached to an outer periphery of an output shaft (2) of the output side member (4), and a spiral spring (15), one end of which is connected to an outer rotation member (16) of the one-way clutch (14) is fixed at the other end of the spiral spring (15). When a forward rotation of an input side member (10) occurs, the forward rotation is transmitted to the outer rotation member (16) of the one-way clutch (14), so that the spiral spring (15) is wound to exert a rotation resistance on the output side member (4) due to the elastic force. After the forward rotation, when a reverse rotation of the input side member (10) occurs, the wound spiral spring (15) is rewound due to the elastic force thereof, thereby reversing the outer rotation member (16) of the one-way clutch (14) in order to assist the reverse rotation of the output side member (4).

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a differentially controllable two-way clutch, which differentially controlls a cage, surely locks rotation both in the normal rotating direction and in the reversing direction, and does not generate drag torque even in the racing state.
      SOLUTION: This differentially controllable two-way clutch includes: an outer wheel with a cam portion on an inner circumference; an inner wheel arranged apart from the outer wheel and toward an inner diameter and rotatably and concentrically with respect to the outer wheel; a torque transmission member located between the outer wheel and the inner wheel to transmit torque; the cage configured to hold the torque transmission member and to be slidable in a circumferential direction and which is differentially controlled; and a spring supported by the cage and capable of energizing the torque transmission member to engage with the cam surface.
