    • PURPOSE: To eliminate the fine operation of a pressurizing valve to maintain a condenser in a high pressure condition, and to increase the condensing temperature of steam to lower the condensing position of steam in heat radiation pipes, by connecting the starting end of a pressure damping pipes to an upper tank and by connecting the terminal end thereof with the pressurizing valve.
      CONSTITUTION: The upper end of heat radiating pipes 19 in a condenser 15 are made to piece through the lower wall of an upper tank 20 and brazed to be fixed thereto. A pressure damping pipe 22 is led from the upper tank 20. A pressurizing valve 25 composed of a bottomed cylindrical container 23 and a pressure cap 24 for closing the opening section of the container 23 are disposed above the upper tank 20, and is connected with the pipe 22 from the upper tank 20. With this arrangement, variations in pressure generated in the upper tank 20 is damped through the pressure damper, and therefore, a pressurized atmosphere is effected in the inside of the condenser. Accordingly, the condensing temperature of steam may be increased, the condensation may be effected at a low position in the heat radiation pipes 19, and therefore, the substitution of condensed water with steam may be smoothly made.

    • PURPOSE:To always maintain excellent cooling performance, by a method wherein, in a device which cools an engine by means of the exvaporation latent heat of a cooling solution, the device is constituted such that the detecting position of a liquid level sensor can be switched according to the operating condition of an engine. CONSTITUTION:In a device which controls turning ON and OFF of a feed pump in a cooling circuit by means of a detecting signal from a liquid surface sensor 27 which detects a coolant surface in the water jacket of an engine body 1, the liquid surface sensor 27 is placed in an about boxform holder 26 communicated with a water jacket one the cylinder head 4 side through rubber hoses 30 and 31. Further, the device comprises a reed switch 33 on the stationary side and a magnet 35 attached to the inner side of a float 34. The holder 26 is elevated along with vertical movement of a screw rod 44 threadedly joined with a nut 46 as the screw rod is rotated by means of a stepping motor 42 according to the operating condition of an engine. This causes variation of the detecting position of the liquid surface sensor 27.

    • PURPOSE:To enhance safety of an engine, by letting abnormal pressure in a cooling system escape to the outside of the system when pressure in the cooling system is abnormally raised. CONSTITUTION:When an engine is operated at low speeds and under high load, or an electric fan 8 is reduced in its performance, pressure in a cooling system and wall temperature are raised. The pressure in the cooling system and the wall temperature are detected, a reducing valve 13 is closed by a control circuit 10B according to a signal from a pressure sensor 11, thereby letting the pressure in the cooling system escape into an exhaust pipe 5. Accordingly, it is possible to prevent thermal deformation of a cylinder head 2 and a cylinder bore due to increase in the wall temperature, and also prevent breakage of a radiator 6.

    • PURPOSE:To raise a cooling capacity of an engine having a cooling jacket through enlarging a utility area of radiator, by providing a vacuum pump adapted to reduce the pressure stored in the cooling jacket when the engine is started. CONSTITUTION:The cooling water compressed by a water pump 1 is jetted out of a nozzle 3 into a cooling jacket 6 through a supplying conduit 2. The steam of the coolng water flows into an intake conduit 10 passing through a steam conduit 7 and radiator 8. When the engine is started, the vaporizing of the cooling water is activated by an actuation of a vacuum pump to reduce the pressure stored in the cooling jacket 6 so that the utility area for condensed liquefaction of the radiator is enlarged. The cooling capacity can thus be raised.
