    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To use a cylinder of a two-cycle internal combustion engine in common with a four-cycle internal combustion engine by eliminating a scavenging port in the cylinder in the two-cycle internal combustion engine. SOLUTION: A first poppet valve 12 opening at a crank angle of about 90 deg. to about 270 deg. is provided in an opening part for a cylinder of a first common port 6, and a second poppet valve 14 opening at a crank angle of about 450 deg. to about 630 deg. is provided in an opening part for a cylinder of a second common port 7. A first selector valve 19 for communicating the first common port with a first exhaust port and communicating the first common port with a first intake port in a section of opening of the first poppet valve is provided in a connection part of the first common port, the first intake port 20, and the first exhaust port 21, and a second selector valve 23 for communicating the second common port with a second exhaust port and communicating the first common port with a second intake port in a section of opening of the second poppet valve is provided in a connection part of the second common port, the second intake port 24, and the second exhaust port 25.
