    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a floatation control apparatus and a floatation control method for a structure in the case where the structure is transported while floating using a plurality of fluid floating devices, which can transport the structure while floating without being inclined preventing the structure from having deformation such as a warp and/or bend.
      SOLUTION: This floatation control apparatus comprises a plurality of air-casters provided with torus bags, piping for feeding compressed air into the air-casters, a flow control valve disposed in the piping to control the flow of compressed air, a pressure measuring device installed in each air caster to measure inner pressure of the torus bag, a floating value measuring device installed in each air-caster to measure the floating value of the air-caster, and a data processing unit to receive pressure data measured by the pressure measuring device and floating value data measured by the floating value measuring device, and send valve opening control signals to the flow control valve based on either or both of the data.

    • PURPOSE:To facilitate the changing of the direction of a heavy article, by removably attaching a required number of caterpillar roller units to the heavy article and attaching an air pallet to the article to change its direction through the action of the air pallet. CONSTITUTION:Caterpillar roller units 10 are removably attached to the jack fitting members 25 of a heavy article 4 through pedestals 24 provided on the tops of the roller units. An air pallet 15 is removably attached to mounting flanges 26 provided on the heavy article 4. For conveyance, steel plates 42 are laid on a conveying path 41, the heavy article 4 is put on the steel plates and the article is then moved to a direction-changing point through the action of the caterpillar roller units 10. At the direction-changing point, compressed air is supplied to the air pallet 15 from a compressor 43 to expand air bags 17 and cause the air to go out of the internal chambers 21 of the bags through holes 20 and flow out in a direction B through the apertures between the steel plates 42 and the bags to floatingly support the heavy article 4. As a result, the direction of the heavy article 4 is lightly changed.

When the load of a pallet 11 with an article 10 to be transported thereon is placed on the holder 16, the sphere 17 is pressed downwardly, generally uniform bearing gap is formed between the sphere 17 and the housing 18 and the pallet 11 is supported without contact on the table 12 by spouting compressed air.

The swingable member 42 is connected, at its one end, the front end of a piston rod 46 in a fluid cylinder 45 through a coupling member 47 and, is journalled, at its the other end, to the rising part 51 of a bearing plate 50 which is provided, at its lower surface, with an air bag 49, by means of a bearing 48. When compressed air fed into the air bag 49 is jetted through air jet holes 51 in a suitable number formed in the lower surface of the air bag 49, the carrier vehicle 1 hovers by the reaction force of the jetted air.
