    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low-cost actuator device capable of preventing certainly a cover from being deformed and stopping an output gear after its rotating to a certain extent certainly at all times. SOLUTION: The actuator device is equipped with a motor accommodated in a case having a cover, an output gear accommodated in the case rotatably and rotated by the drive shaft of the motor through decelerating gears, an output shaft supported by the case rotatably and rotating together with the output gear, and an output cam attached to the output shaft, wherein an accommodation recess for accommodating a stopper piece is formed at the top surface of the output gear and a projection is formed on the output shaft confronting the inside of the accommodation recess, and the stopper piece is furnished with an engaging convex and stoppers to be engaged with and separate from the projection on the output shaft, and a stopper is provided to restrict the rotating extent of the output gear while the stoppers of the stopper piece abut to and are engaged with the inside surface of the cover.     • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect a failure that a locking limit switch and an unlocking limit switch are fixed in an off-state. SOLUTION: The locking limit switch 4 is turned on when a locking rod 2 arrives at a locking stop position and turned off when an unlocking instruction of the locking rod 2 is outputted. Further, the unlocking limit switch 5 is turned on when the locking rod 2 arrives at an unlocking stop position and turned off when the locking instruction of the locking rod 2 is outputted. An electric steering lock control unit 20 determines that the locking limit switch 4 or the unlocking limit switch 5 is failed in such a state that the locking rod 2 is locked or it is unlocked when both the locking limit switch 4 and the unlocking limit switch 5 are turned off.
