    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an airbag device capable of enhancing the gas sealing property of the peripheral edge of an insertion hole for inserting an inflater applied with tension at the deployment/inflation of an airbag and preventing the leakage of a gas from a space between the airbag and the inflater as much as possible. SOLUTION: In the airbag device, the airbag includes: a bag body having the insertion hole capable of inserting the inflater therethrough; and a seal cloth 58 arranged so as to cover the peripheral edge of the insertion hole. On the seal cloth 58, a fitting/insertion hole 59 capable of fitting/inserting the inflater inserted into the insertion hole is arranged. The seal cloth 48 is constituted such that a plurality of slots 61 are arranged at a position of the periphery of the fitting/insertion hole 49, and the periphery of the fitting/insertion hole 59 is surrounded with the slits 61 over the approximately whole area in a circumferential direction. In the four directions approximately radially extending from the center of the fitting/insertion hole 59, the relative deviation movement of the part of the peripheral edge of the fitting/insertion hole 59 and the peripheral edge of the insertion hole of the bag body is made possible.     • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a knee-guard air bag that can easily be produced and can be inflated with reduced lateral non-uniformity even when an inflation gas flows from one of right and left parts on an upper-stream side in an unbalanced manner. SOLUTION: A knee-guard air bag 30 has, at a center of an upper edge 30a in a transverse direction thereof, a receiving recessed portion 41 that is recessed downward to receive a lower face 5a of a column cover 5. A peripheral wall of the air bag on a side of the upper edge is formed of an upper panel material 56 having a folded portion 56a that is folded in front and behind to make a linear folding line across the entire upper edge in the transverse direction thereof. Under the folded portion 56a near the center of the upper panel material in the transverse direction thereof and above a thickness defining tether 46, a connection material 50 is placed so as to form the receiving recessed portion 41 and arrange a driver-side wall 31 and a cover-side wall 32 close to each other. The connection material 50 is placed to provide a communication part 42 through which the inflation gas can flow transversely, between the connection material 50 and the folded portion 56a in the air bag. By using the opening part 44K for a working space, the connector 72 of the wire harness 70 is easily connected to the connector 68 of the inflator 18 transversely mounted in the axial direction of the steering column.
