    • PURPOSE:To automize arrangement and photocomposition of characters by a system wherein idle-printed photocomposed characters are allocated and displayed in a line of a given length on a monitor display and, in permanent photocomposition, photocomposing positions relative to a photosensitive material are moved with the same pitch in conjunction with spacings between the arranged characters. CONSTITUTION:An idle printing start position A and a goal position B are both displayed on the screen of a monitor display 6, and characters 26 on a character disc 8 are selected so that idle-printed photocomposed characters are displayed between A and B with half brightness. A controller 2 computes the number of characters and the dimension between A and B, correctly arranges the respective characters between A and B with given intervals, and then stores the spacing interval. In permanent photocomposition, the first character is displayed with full brightness through a camera 23 and printed through a lens system 16 on a photosensitive material 18 wound round a magazine drum 19. The character on the screen is moved by a given pitch to display a next character in a character in a character pick-up window 25, and a photocomposing position relative to the photosensitive material 18 is moved by the spacing between the arranged characters using a pulse motor 17 or 20. By so doing, it becomes possible to automatically arranged and photocompose characters with desired spacings.

    • PURPOSE:To eliminate the need to exchange a magazine housed with materials not exposed to light at each time a certain length of photographic typesetting is completed by providing a photo-sensitive material cutting mechanism between a photo-sensitive material feeding roll and a photo-sensitive material recovery magazine set in a case. CONSTITUTION:When typesetting is finished for a certain length of a photosensitive material 13, the end portion of the typeset material is sent into a recovery magazine 21. Afterwards, a knob 47 is slided left and right along a guide pipe 44, a cutter holder 41 is moved through a rope 48 along guide shafts 40, and the photo-sensitive material 13 is cut off in the widthwise direction by the cutter 43. The recovery magazine 21 is removed from the case 1 and transferred to developing and fixing operations, and new and vacant recovery magazine is loaded to the case 1, and while sending out a rolled photosensitive material 13 from the recovery magazine 18 again, typesetting operation is continued. The typesetting operation can thus be efficiently performed.

    • PURPOSE:To enable to set types for an elongate photosensitive material and contrive to enhance typesetting efficiency, by a method wherein a belt form photosensitive material is fitted extendingly from a winding roll fitted in a hollow drum to the outside periphery of the drum in a magazine, and the leading end of the material is led out by fixing to an internally provided take-up roll. CONSTITUTION:The elongate belt form photosensitive material (a) is wound around the winding roll 10 in a roll form after engaging a plurality of small holes thereof to engaging pins 16, is drawn out, is fitted around the outside peripheral surface of the hollow drum 6, and the small holes 44 thereof are engaged to engaging pins 17 of the take-up roll 11. Then, a main body 1 of the magazine is inserted between guide members of the phototypesetter, and is fitted in place. After typesetting for the photosensitive material (a) fitted around the drum 6 is completed, a handle shaft 36 is pushed and is fitted to a ratchet wheel 20 provided at an end of a shaft for the take-up roll 11. When a handle 39 is rotated, the photosensitive material (a) on the drum 6 is taken up by the roll 11, and simultaneously, the unprocessed material (a) on the roll 10 is drawn out, and is fitted on the surface of the roll 6. Accordingly, phototypesetting for a predetermined length of the material (a) can be conducted successively.
