    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultrafine hole punching method by pressing and a punching device which make good use of advantages of a punch made of a highly hard ceramic fiber, and in which a material of high strength is used for the material of a die.
      SOLUTION: The ultrafine hole punching device 10 is provided with: a metallic holder member 13 to which the punch 15 of the ceramic fiber of 50 μm thick or below is fixed in a state where one end of the punch 15 is slightly projected from one end face in a longitudinal direction; a sliding support member 21 slidably holding the holder member; a die 23 having a straight die hole arranged to be separated from the tip of the punch in an axial direction, a fixing member fixing the sliding support member and the die; and a driving part 31 moving the holder member along the sliding support member. By applying voltage holding a space between the surface of the die and the tip of the punch provided with a metal membrane to a discharge distance, electric discharge occurs and the die hole is provided to the die.
