      SOLUTION: The traveling support device 1 supports the traveling of a vehicle having an engine and a motor as a drive source, and includes: a mode switching control part 12 for selectively switching between HV mode in which the vehicle travels by at least the engine as the drive source and EV mode in which the vehicle travels by at least a motor as a drive source, so as to reduce the contribution of the engine to overall power for the vehicle as compared with that in HV mode; an information acquisition part 10 for acquiring traffic jam information; and a mode switching scheduling part 11 for determining switching of the mode switching control part 12 in the traffic jam section before the vehicle travels in the traffic jam section, based on the traffic jam information.
