    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust-gas cleaning catalyst and a generation method of the exhaust-gas cleaning catalyst, which can fully control growth of particles of a noble metal to fully control a deterioration in the catalyst activity even if exposed to an exhaust gas of high temperature for a long time and also re-distribute the noble metal to easily regenerate the catalyst activity so that the catalyst activity per unit amount of the supported noble metal is fully high and the excellent catalyst activity is displayed even if a growth of the particles of the noble metal in its use. SOLUTION: The exhaust-gas cleaning catalyst has a carrier of fluorite type structure containing a composite oxide of Zr and at least one metallic element which is chosen from a group consisting of a rare earth element and an alkaline earth metal element, and also contains Ce, and the noble metal supported by the carrier, wherein the amount of metallic element contained in the carrier is in the range of 51-75 mol% by metal conversion for the carrier and the amount of Ce contained in metallic element is 90 mol% or more by metal conversion for metallic element.     • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To further improve the rate of reduction purification of NOx even in the waste gas of lean atmosphere by allowing a first powder carrying Rh on the porous grain and provided with an HC adsorbent in the vicinity and a second powder carrying Pt and an NOx occluding material on the porous grain to coexist in the catalyst. SOLUTION: Since an HC adsorbent 1 is provided close to a first powder 1 carrying Rh 11 on a porous grain 10, the HC even in the waster gas of lean atmosphere as well as in that of rich atmosphere is absorbed, the adsorbed HC is discharged, and NOx are reduced by the hydrogen generated by the reaction of HC with steam on the first powder 1 under the catalysis of Rh 11. As the sulfur-poisoned NOx occluding material and SOx are reduced by the hydrogen, the NOx occluding material is restored, further sulfur positioning is not caused, and the NOx purifying capacity is remarkably improved. The HC and CO are oxidized and purified by by Pt 20 in the lean atmosphere, the NO in the waste gas is simultaneously oxidized into NOx which are occluded in the NOx colluding material, and the discharge of NOx is remarkably reduced.

SOLUTION: The catalyst for purifying exhaust gas is provided with: a carrier containing a multiple oxide of zirconia and/or alumina and at least one element selected from the group consisting of alkaline-earth metal elements, rare earth elements and group 3A elements; a noble metal deposited on the carrier; and an additional component which is deposited on the carrier and contains at least one element selected from the group consisting of alkaline-earth metal elements, rare earth elements and group 3A elements. The catalyst for controlling exhaust gas is characterized in that the amount of the noble metal to be deposited is within 0.05-2 mass% of the catalyst and the molar ratio of (the amount of the additional component to be deposited)/(the amount of the noble metal to be deposited) in terms of metals is within 0.5-20.
