    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent generation of an abnormal noise caused by the vibration of a sheet due to the slip phenomenon in continuing the drive of a feed roller in a condition where the sheet is stopped. SOLUTION: This sheet feeder exclusive for manual feed is provided with a paper feed base 32 to guide a sheet to be inserted from a paper feed port 30 to a feed roller 31, and the guide sheet P is fed to a resist roller 20 to stop and arrange a tip of the sheet by the paper feed roller 31. The sheet P is fed by the feed roller 31, and guided along a guide 34 to guide the sheet to the resist roller 20. A second guide 35 is provided along the guide surface of the guide 34 in order to bridge a sheet carrying path between the guide and the feed roller 31. When the feed roller 31 is continuously operated in a condition where the sheet P is stopped by the resist roller 20, the sheet P is vibrated through the slip phenomenon with the sheet P, but the vibration is suppressed by increasing the contact area with the second guide, and thus, the vibration noise is reduced to prevent generation of an abnormal noise.

    • PURPOSE:To allow an user to recognize sheet size and prevent the erroneous use of sheets by forming a first display part on a tray body, and forming a second display part for displaying the sheet size according to the position of a guide plate on the surface of an auxiliary tray which is situated on the surface side when folded. CONSTITUTION:A paper feed tray has a manual feed tray body 10 having a guide plate 13 for regulating the cross direction of a sheet, and an auxiliary tray 11 installed to the tray body 10 in such a manner as to be capable of folding. A first display part 16 is formed on the tray body 10, and a second display part 22 for displaying the sheet size according to the position of the guide plate 13 is formed on the surface of the auxiliary tray 11 which is situated on the surface side when folded. The first display part 16 is arranged in the position shielded by the auxiliary tray 11 when it is folded. Further, the first display part 16, for example, indicates a lengthy sheet size, and the second display part 22 indicates a short sheet size.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce an offensive noise as a large sound is emitted by a jumping in time of a sheet rear end colliding with a guide whenever a sheet to be fed is guide along a guide member. SOLUTION: A sheet P being mounted on a mount plate 22a installed in a paper feed cassette is fed by a rotating paper feed roller 25 from the uppermost part, while the tip is guided along a plane guide way 30a inclined upward to a guide member 30 and fed to a desired position by way of a second circular guide way in succession to this plane guide way 30a. Subsequently, when a sheet rear Pe of the sheet P comes off a next uppermost sheet P1 of the paper feed cassette, it collides with the plane guide way 30a. In this case, since the plane guide way 30a is made up into a plane form to come into contact with the sheet at the whole area, a sheet rear end part contacts with the whole are of this plane form at the same time, therefore an impact is widely dispersed together with a cushion action by dint of air, so that any possible noise due to a jumping by the sheet rear end is reduced or dwindles aways to nothing.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device by which stable image quality is obtained by accurately detecting the moving speed of the outer surface of an image carrier and moving the image carrier at fixed speed. SOLUTION: A transmitter-receiver 6 transmits an ultrasonic signal and receives an ultrasonic signal reflected by the speed detection area 5 of the outer peripheral surface 2 of a photoreceptor drum 1. The transmitter-receiver 6 has only to receive a part of a transmission signal irregularly reflected by the area 5 of the outer peripheral surface 2 of the photoreceptor 1 as a reception signal. An arithmetic circuit 9 arithmetically calculates and obtains the detection moving speed V of the outer peripheral surface 2 of the drum 1 based on the transmission signal and the reception signal. An inverter 20 controls an induction motor 13 based on the speed V so as to drive the drum 1 at moving speed that the moving speed of the surface 2 of the drum 1 coincides with previously set target speed. Thus, the image forming device where the drum 1 is driven at the fixed speed by the motor 13 so as to obtain the stable image quality is realized.

    • PURPOSE:To accurately detect the soiling of a fixing roller and to attain cleaning in a proper period by moving a stain detecting means to a detection position so as to detect soiling, only when the temperature of a fixing roller is low. CONSTITUTION:The surface temperature of the fixing roller, is detected by a thermister, and when a master CPU judges that the detected temperature is lower than a reference temperature set in advance, a stain detection instructing signal is transmitted to drive a stepping motor 47. Then, a mount 41 on which the stain detecting means 40 is mounted, is moved to the position for detecting the soiling from a standby position, to detect the soiling. This detection position, is a previously set position opposite to the part of a lower fixing roller, allowing the transfer papers of all sizes to pass, and the number of rotational pulses of the stepping motor 47 is counted, to attain alignment. Thus, the mulfunction, and damage of the stain detecting means 40, and the soiling by the toner and paper powder at the time of nondetecting, can be prevented.

    • PURPOSE:To prevent the mulfunction and damage of a stain detecting means and to accurately detect soiling by providing the stain detecting means on a low-temperature part of the lower side of a lower fixing roller side, and attaining cleaning when the soiling of the lower fixing roller is detected. CONSTITUTION:The stain detecting means 40 is provided opposite to the lower fixing roller 23, in the vicinity of the lower fixing roller 23 lowered downward two-third or more from the press-contact surface of the lower fixing roller 23 with an upper fixing roller 22. Because, in this location, the lower side of the roller 23 has the lowest temperature distribution, so that adverse influence is not exerted on the stain detecting means 40. The soil detecting means 40 detects a change in the output of a phototransistor, caused by reduction in the reflected light quantity of light projected by a light emitting diode as the lower fixing roller 23 is soiled, as soiling. When the value of the soiling exceeds a reference value set in advance, a circuit is changed from high to low, to inform the fact to a master CPU. The master CPU obtaining the information of the soiling, sets a cleaning mode, to clean the lower fixing roller 23.
