SOLUTION: A filter part 44 in a picture processor 35 in a copier 31 first selects any one of plural reverse density picture elements which compose a picture of a processing object as an watched picture element. Next, the filter part 44 obtain a weighting average value of these densities by using a filter coefficient which predetermines a density of the picture element under consideration before correction and the density of a surrounding picture element of the picture element under consideration. Finally, the filter part 44 compares the density of the picture element under consideration before the correction with the weighting average value and outputs a value closer to the density equivalent to a black level as the density of the picture element under consideration after the correction. Moreover, the filter part 44 compares the density of the picture element under consideration before the correction with a predetermined reference density and outputs the weighting average value as the density of the picture element under consideration after the correction regardless of a large or small relationship between the density before the correction and the weighting average value only when the density before the correction is below the reference density.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure the secrecy and safety of a confidential document even in the case of sending that document from equipment having a facsimile function having no confidential function. SOLUTION: Transmitted image information is decoded by a compression/ extension part 9 and temporarily stored in an image memory part 2 at the same time. At such a time, a confidential control part 10 is let control a multitask and a procedure is processed for showing whether the received data are the confidential document or not or whether a name addressed to an individual is registered at a reception terminal or not. At such a time, when the data are the confidential document, the honorific title considered to exist in paper is detected, a character string existent before that honorific title is extracted, further, it is retrieved whether that character string is registered at the reception terminal or not and when it is not registered, the disability of confidential reception is decided so that confidential reception refusing processing can be performed. When the character strings existent before and after the honorific title are registered at the reception terminal, it is decided that the confidential reception is enabled, the image information is transferred to a mass hard disk (HDD) 11 and series of jobs are finished.

Then, when the inserted document D is detected by the detecting lever, the trailing end of the document is detected by the detecting lever 36 on the way to be fed to the document platen through the lead-in roller and the feeding roller, and then, by rotating a semicircular roller 38 installed on a part of a pressure mat 3b for the document cover 3 at a prescribed rotating speed, the trailing end of the document is sent to the reference position 2a where the follower roller 34b of the feeding roller comes into contact with the document platen 2, thus, the positioning of the fed document is executed.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To sythesize and from images from a plurality of documents on the same paper without performing digital image processing by calculating and comparing the number of documents, the total size of a placed document and a paper size and successively feeding the documents in accordance with a reduction magnification decided, based on the compared result. SOLUTION: A necessary and sufficient reduction magnification for obtaining the synthetic copies of the number of placed documents is decided by the document size, the paper size and the number of the placed documents, so that reduced copying is performed. For instance, in the case of performing the reduced synthetic copying of four A4-sized documents into one A4-sized document, exposure processing is not performed for the placed document, and the placed document is temporarily fed to a second document placing part from a first document placing part, and the number of the documents is recognized by a document integrating counter 95. Then, the document at the second document placing part is reset at the first document placing part again, and desired synthetic copying is performed. Then, information from a document side detecting means 93, a paper size detecting means 94 and the counter 95 is fetched into a RAM 87 at any time.
