摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form an image in an S-D mode and a D-D mode and to arrange recording paper on which an image has already formed, in page order. SOLUTION: An odd-numbered document D placed on the paper supply tray 13 of a document feeding part 2a is fed to an image reading part 3, so that the image is read and stored in a RAM 26. Next, an even-numbered document D is fed so that the image is read, and the recording paper P housed in a paper supply cassette 53 is fed to an image forming part 4, whereby the image is formed on either surface of the paper P. Furthermore, the paper P is fed to a path 8, reversed from the front surface to the back surface and fed to the forming part 4 again, then the image stored in the RAM 26 is read out and formed on the other surface of the paper P. Finally, the paper P is fed with the other surface downward, and fed out to a paper ejection tray 12. By repeating such operation, the paper P is arranged in the page order and ejected.

Since the level of the reflected light is changed in accordance with the open/close state and the surface condition of the plate 10, the open/close state of the original cover 4 can be detected by the comparison of a reference lever and a reflected light level. The surface condition such as the soiling of the plate 10, etc., can be grasped.

SOLUTION: A printer comprising a print carriage 11 moving in the main scanning direction and rollers 32, 34 and 42 for feeding a recording sheet in the sub-scanning direction is provided with a rotary drive mechanism of the rollers, and lock members 37, 38 and 43 for regulating rotation of the rollers. Driving force of a motor 13 for driving the print carriage in the main scanning direction is transmitted constantly to the rotary drive mechanism at the time of driving in the main scanning direction, and the lock members are disposed in the vicinity of the end in the main scanning direction such that the lock members touch the print carriage depending on the moving position thereof. The lock members are arranged to lock the roller so long as the lock members do not touch the print carriage and unlock the roller when the print carriage touches the lock members.

SOLUTION: Image information obtained by allowing an image inputting part 14 to read the image of an odd-numberth original is stored in a DRAM76 in the order of reading. Image information obtained by allowing the part 14 to read the image of an even-numberth original is varied with a desired magnification by an image processing ASIC 81, and the image is formed directly on one surface of a recording paper H by an image forming part 16. Then, a tip void is secured at a position being the tip of a recording and carrying direction. A recording and carrying part 18 reverses the front and rear of the paper H and carries it to the part 16. The image information stored in the DRAM 76 is outputted to make an image in the same direction as that of the formed image to form the image on the other surface of the recording paper.

The movable guide 40 is maintained in such a condition as not blocking the two curved guide paths and put in rotational control in accordance with the passage of the trailing edge of the sheet fed from the hand feed part so as to eliminate a step formed by the first curved path, and the second curved path 32 is coupled with a guide body 37 to form the convergence part 35 by the guide piece 40b of this movable guide 40, and thereby noise emission is precluded originating from a rebound of the trailing edge of sheet.
