SOLUTION: A device includes an array of photosensing cells including first and second groups of photosensing cells on an IC, where the first group photo-senses synchrotron radiation from each of objects identifiable of the first group when the object is in a detection region and the second group photo-senses synchrotron radiation from the object in an encoding/sensing region. The device also includes a relative motion component for causing relative motion of a subset of the identifiable objects into the detection region, from it into the encoding/sensing region, and within the encoding/sensing region. The device also includes a circuit component for reading the photo-sensed amount from the first and second groups of the photosensing cells and, in response to the photo-sensed amount from the first group indicating the light radiated from one of the subsets of the object in the detection region, acquiring data from the photo-sensed amount from the second group, the data indicating at least one time-varying waveform with information resulting from the object's relative motion within the encoding/sensing region. 摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide optically pumped laser structures incorporating reflectors that have high reflectivity and are reflectivity bandwidth-limited to a relatively narrow band around the central laser radiation wavelength.SOLUTION: A laser structure comprises: a semiconductor gain region configured to emit radiation at a central laser wavelength; a pump light source configured to emit a pump radiation beam at a central pump wavelength directed toward the gain region; a first reflector comprising a distributed Bragg reflector disposed in the pump radiation beam; and a second reflector disposed such that the gain region is interposed between the first and second reflectors. The first reflector has reflectivity greater than about 90% across a bandwidth of less than about 60 nm centered at the central laser wavelength, the first reflector also having a reflectivity less than about 50% at the central pump wavelength. Optionally, the Bragg reflector can be a 3/4-wavelength distributed Bragg reflector.
