    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent wrinkles and unevenness from occurring at a position corresponding to a hoop insertion groove when extremely thin coil-like metal belts are bound without using a hoop by building an air bag tube equipped with a segment on an outer face into the hoop insertion groove of a cradle roll. SOLUTION: An air bag tube 10 equipped with a segment 9 on an outer face is placed in a hoop insertion groove 3 of the cradle roll 1. When normal coil-like metal belts 2 are to be bound by using a hoop 4, air in the air bag tube 10 is exhausted, and the hoop 4 is inserted into a slit reserved between the segment 9 and the coil-like metal belt coil 2 for binding the coil-like metal belts 2. When extremely thin coil-like metal belts 2 with a thickness less than 0.2mm for example are to be bound without using the hoop 4, compressed air is led into the air bag tube 10 so that an outer face of the segment 9 may be aligned with an outer face of the cradle roll 1, and tail ends 17 of the coils are bound using adhesive paper 5.

    • PURPOSE: To improve heat resistance, wear resistance and heat conductivity, and to follow thermal expansion by fitting a sleeve made of Cu-WC alloy in an oxygen nozzle, in a lance nozzle in converter for blowing having a triple tube structure. CONSTITUTION: In a lance nozzle of triple tube structure, a plurality of cooling water introducing ports are arranged along the outer circumferential surface of the tip part of an oxygen nozzle 1, and a cooling water introducing port 8 to a heat receiving surface 4 is arranged to enhance the cooling around the oxygen nozzle 1 and of its heat receiving surface 4. A lance sleeve 7 made of Cu-WC alloy is fitted to the inner side 11 of the oxygen nozzle 1 by using the lance nozzle of three tube structure, and both ends of the sleeve 7 are welded and fixed to the base metal 12 of the lance. Because the Cu-WC alloy which is provided with the heat conductivity sufficient for the welding and excellent in the heat resistance and wear resistance is fitted to the inner side of the oxygen nozzle 1, the sleeve is not peeled therefrom, the fixing is sufficiently secured, and the service life can be improved.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the penetration of water into a bearing box and prevent the failure of a bearing by providing a drip plate for water penetrating into the roll end inner part on the roll side of the bearing box. SOLUTION: A roll 1 is supported on a bearing 3, and the bearing 3 is fixed by a bearing box 4. The grease supplied through a greasing port 6 in order to lubricate the bearing 3 is discharged through a seal 5. At this time, drip plate 7 for water penetrating into the end of the roll 1 is provided on the roll 1 side of the bearing box 4 to prevent the seal 5 of the bearing box 4 from being directly exposed to water. According to this structure, the penetration of water into the bearing box 4 can be prevented to reduce the bearing failure. Preferably, a regularly opened degreasing pipe 8 for greasing work confirmation is provided so as not to fill the inner part of the drip plate 7 with the grease leaked from the seal 5, and the outlet of the degreasing pipe 8 is set downward. Thus, the greasing work can be confirmed without filling a large quantity of grease in the drip plate 7, and the using quantity of grease can be reduced.
