The painting is executed by supplying the paints to N-pieces of the painting means in the relations Vs=N.d.Vn/(M.L) and N.d a.P, wherein Vs is the transfer speed in the direction (y): N is the number of the painting means to actually execute the painting; Vn is the scanning speed in the direction (x); M is an even number; L is the painting width in the direction (x); a is integer (1, 2, 3...)).

    • PURPOSE:To improve the strength in a tapered part and the strain in the stage of welding by forming a steel plate of different thicknesses having steps on both sides by a rolling mill and pressing the stepped part of the steel plate by a press straightener so that the one side in the stepped part is formed flat. CONSTITUTION:A steel plate of different thicknesses consisting of a thick part 2 and a thin part 3 and having stepped parts 4 on both surfaces is produced by, for example, a quadruple reversible rolling mill. Such plate 1 is placed on the bedding 6 on a table 7 of a press straightener. A die 5 is placed on the top side of the part 4 and said part is pressed and compressed by a press cylinder 8 of the press straightener from above. The one side of the part 4 is thus formed flat and the steel plate of different thicknesses having one flat surface is produced.

    • PURPOSE:To improve the peeling resistance and the strength of the coating film and to execute a relatively thick coating at a high speed by roughening a preheated material to be coated by shot blasting and scanning plural pieces of coating means along a direction (y) back and forth >=4 times while transferring the material in the direction (y) to coat the 1st surface and then executing the coating of the 2nd surface in the same manner after drying. CONSTITUTION:After the front and rear surfaces of the material which is to be coated and is preheated in a 1st preheating furnace 50 are roughened by the shot blasting 60, the 1st surface is coated by a 1st coater 70 and is sent to a 1st drying furnace 80. The material to be coated is turned over by a front and rear turning over machine 90 upon drying of the coating film and the 2nd surface is coated by a 2nd coater 100. While the material to be coated is transferred in the direction (y) in the 1st coater 70 and the 2nd coater 100, plural pieces of the coating means disposed at prescribed intervals along the direction (y) are scanned back and forth >=4 times in the direction (x) orthogonal with the direction (y) and the coating surfaces thereof are subjected to a spray coating.

    • PURPOSE:To make the entire painted surface uniform in film thickness by painting both end parts of a traveling thick or middle thickness steel plate to be painted with a pair of spray guns for edge painting and painting the central part with traversing spray guns. CONSTITUTION:In the stage of subjecting a hot rolled middle thickness steel plate 1 traveling on roll tables 4 to spray painting except its unpainting parts 2, both right and left end parts A, B of the plate 1 are painted with spray guns 6, 6 for edge painting and the central part C is painted with traversing spray guns 8, 8a, 9, 9a, 10. The guns 5, 6 are properly positioned on guiding rails 5, and the angles of inclination of the nozzles are set at about 10-30 deg. toward the central part of the plate 1. The guns 8, 8a, 9, 9a, 10 are moved at proper speeds on guiding rails 11, 12, 13, and are employed successively increasing speed in order of 10, 9a, 9, 8a, 8 from the front stage according to the progression of the plate 1. Thus, the film thickness is finished roughly uniformly without decreasing the passing through speed of the plate 1.
