摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect acoustic radiation to judge the healthiness of a welded part by applying a force in the direction opposite to a strip feed direction and/or a force in the strip feed direction to a strip after in-line welding. SOLUTION: A metal strip 1 passes through a looper 9 from a pay-off reel 2 through an inlet pinch roll 3, a welding machine 5 and an outlet pinch roll 6 to continue to the treatment line of a post-process. Acoustic radiation is detected by acoustic radiation sensors 7a, 7b to be subjected to signal processing by an acoustic radiation signal processor 8. The rear end of the strip 1 enters a shearing machine 4 and the crop thereof is cut and the strip 1 is stopped at the position of the welding machine 5. In the judgment of the strength of a welded part utilizing acoustic radiation, the tension corresponding to test load is applied to the strip 1 by the pinch rolls 3, 6. Acoustic radiation is detected by the acoustic radiation sensors 7a, 7b brought into contact with the metal strip in the vicinity of the welded part.

摘要： PURPOSE: To impart the strength capable of withstanding the repetitive thermal deformation under high-temp. use as a lance by casting a lance nozzle having plural blow-off holes for blowing oxygen and cooling water paths by using a copper alloy, then subjecting this lance nozzle to a high-temp. isotropic pressure treatment at a temp. near the softening point of the alloy, thereby annihilating the internal defects, such as gaps. CONSTITUTION: The lance nozzle casting obtd. by casting the copper alloy is subjected to the high-temp. isotropic pressure treatment for one to three hours at 800 to 1000 deg.C and under a pressurizing force of 100 to 2000kg/cm . The lance nozzle casting is thereafter finished by machining. The high-temp. isotropic pressure treatment is preferably executed by a hot isotropic pressurization method (HIP) by using gaseous argon as a medium. The strength and thermal conductivity near the surface of the casting are improved by about 20% and the resistance to the thermal deformation is greatly improved as well by this treatment. The copper alloy incorporated with at least one kind selected from Zn, Pb, Sn, Si, Al, Fe and Mn is preferable as the copper alloy to be used.

The cooling water is injected from the fine holes opened on the water-cooling pipe 5 to cool the brick 2 through the cooling wall 3. At this time, the pressure in the cooling space 4 is reduced with a blower 7 to promote the vaporization of the water injected from the water-cooling pipe 5. The cooling capacity is improved by taking into account the cooling with this vaporized heat and also, the storage of liquid drips in the pipe is prevented and the steam explosion can be avoided. In the case of developing the fall-out, etc., of the brick 2 from happening, since the cooling-water pipe succeeds to cool with the circulating water, the breakage of the piping and the vaporization of the water in the piping can be prevented.
