    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device of an internal combustion engine capable of stabilizing combustion, and capable of improving exhaust emission, by suitably restraining the direct inflow of blow-by gas in a combustion chamber via a piston clearance.
      SOLUTION: In starting control of an engine 10 when opening of a throttle valve 45 becomes small (negative pressure in the combustion chamber 31 becomes large), whether or not a vaporized fuel quantity in the blow-by gas falls within an allowable range is determined from an injection quantity correction quantity (the fuel dilution ratio), the present oil temperature and a soak time in idle operation just before stopping the engine last time. When a determination is made that the vaporized fuel quantity in the blow-by gas exceeds the allowable range, control is performed for adjusting the suction air volume by blowing back intake air by changing the valve closing timing of an intake valve 35 to the ignition timing delay side in response to its control together with the control for fully opening the opening of the throttle valve 45.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a controller of an engine which effectively prevents the deposit of fuel with a high sulfur content from being accumulated at an injection section.
      SOLUTION: The controller is provided with a fuel injection valve 13 which directly injects fuel in a cylinder of an engine, a sulfur detecting sensor 45 which detects the amount of sulfur contained in the fuel, and a temperature calculating section 6a which calculates the temperature of the injection section of the fuel injection valve, and a spark plug 15 executing operation for increasing or decreasing the temperature of the injection section, a valve timing varying mechanism 31 on a suction side and a high pressure fuel pump 133. The controller is also provided with an ECU 6 which increases the temperature of the injection section by controlling the sparking time of the spark plug on an advance side when the amount of sulfur contained in the fuel calculated based on the value of the sulfur detecting sensor exceeds a predetermined value and the temperature of the injection section calculated by the temperature calculating section is lower than the predetermined value by controlling the valve timing of an inlet valve 16 on an advanced side, and by controlling the pressure of supplied fuel by the high pressure fuel pump on a high pressure side.

While at least either one of the injection condition of the fuel injection valve 7 and the valve opening property of the intake valve 15 is set so as to prevent collision between the fuel injected by the fuel injection valve 7 and the intake valve 15 by controlling the fuel injection valve 7 or the valve gear 17, at least one of the set injection condition and valve opening property is changed so that the fuel injected by the fuel injection valve 7 and the intake valve 15 collide with each other when an internal combustion engine 1 is cold started.
