    • PURPOSE:To enable a driver to change a distance between two cars arbitarily by providing a means which can set an optimum distance between two cars depending on the road condition, for a controlling device for the distance between two cars, which is employed by an automatic drive device which allows a car to run at a constant speed on an expressway. CONSTITUTION:This device includes a car speed detecting means A, a distance between two cars detecting means B, a car speed vs. distance between two cars curve memory means E, a parameter decision means D, and a car speed change means C. And the plural number of curves for car speed vs. distance between two cars which are selected by a parameter, is stored in the curve memory means E. And the value of the parameter is determined by the parameter decision means D. The car speed change means C changes the car speed in such a way that the car speed matches the equivalent distance between two cars specified by the car speed vs. distance between two cars curve selected by the parameter which has been already decided. Accordingly, as the value of the parameter can be determined arbitarily depending on the road condition, the car speed is controlled so as to maintain a new target distance between two cars which is selected.

    • PURPOSE:To make it possible to form a uniform time waveform by providing a light diffusing member which disperses or reflects incident laser light and mixes and averages the light rays. CONSTITUTION:An optical pulse generating apparatus is provided with the following parts: a light emitting element 1; a light diffusing part 2 which is molded in a rectangu lar parallelopiped shape with optical glass for dispersing or reflecting incident laser light beams L1 and L2 and provided so that both ends are positioned in the advancing direction of the laser light; and a condenser lens 3 which is arranged so that an end surface 2b of the member 2 is located at the focal point. The incident light beams L1 and L2 at the end surface 2a of the member 2 have the different time waveforms in optical intensities at incident points P1 and P2. The member 2 disperses or reflects the light beams L1 and L2 so that the light beams converge and reach at points P3 and P4 at the other end surface 2b. Therefore, the light beams L1 and L2 having the different time waveforms are mixed and averaged at the points P3 and P4. Laser light beams L3 emitted here have the approximately same time waveform. Since the pulse light indicating the same intensity change is obtained in this way, highly accurate measurement can be performed by using this apparatus in a pulse radar and the like.

    • PURPOSE:To measure accurately the intensity of an optical pulse without reference to a pulse duty ratio by generating a trigger pulse signal when the peak level of a photodetection pulse signal is larger than that of a fed-back reference signal. CONSTITUTION:A photodetecting element 1 photodetects an optical pulse L inputted periodically; and generates a photodetection pulse signal Vi. A trigger pulse generating circuit 2 inputs the signal Vi and generates a trigger pulse signal V2 when its peak level is larger than the reference signal Vr. An extension pulse generating circuit 3 is operated with the signal V2 and generates an extension pulse signal V3 whose pulse width is somewhat larger than the period of the pulse light L. A light intensity output circuit 4 outputs a light intensity signal Vo which increases with a specific gradient during the input of the signal V3 and decreases with a specific gradient in other cases. The signal Vo, on the other hand, is fed back to the circuit 2 as the reference signal Vr by the circuit 5. Then, the signal Vo varies following up the peak level of the signal Vi, so the intensity of the pulse light is known accurately without reference to the pulse duty ratio of the pulse light L.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power conversion device that suppresses transitional biased magnetization of a transformer resulting from a voltage fluctuation without requiring any additional components.SOLUTION: A control circuit 13 decides a pulse width on the basis of a result of comparison of an output voltage of an output side circuit 12 with a voltage command, and controls switching of FETs 110-113 such that a pulse voltage having the decided pulse width is applied to a primary winding 100 alternately positively and negatively with time. Specifically, the switching of the FETs 110-113 is controlled such that the pulse width is updated every time the pulse voltage is applied three consecutive times. Biased magnetization of a transformer 10 can thus be suppressed even when an input voltage fluctuates. An existing capacitor for biased magnetization prevention is dispensed with. This can reliably suppress transitional biased magnetization of the transformer 10 without requiring any additional components.
