      SOLUTION: The rice cooker comprises: a main body 10; a pot 14 freely detachably housed inside the main body 10; a lid body 17 for freely openably and closably covering the opening 14a of the pot 14; a steam cylinder 23 for discharging steam inside the pot 14; a pot heating means 15 for heating the pot 14; and a rolling pump 24 for sending air outside the main body 10 into the pot 14 during heat insulation. In a heat insulation process immediately cooking rice, when the temperature of rice is high, outdoor air is supplied into the pot 14 and it is quickly lowered to a temperature suitable for the heat insulation, the temperature of about 60-75 degrees for instance, the degradation of the rice is prevented. Also, by sending the outdoor air into the pot 14, excess moisture inside the pot 14 is discharged from the steam cylinder 23 to the outside of the main body 10, dew condensation on the pot 14 or the like is prevented, and the gluitinousness and whitening of the rice are prevented. Also, a heat insulation odor inside the pot 14 is discharged to the outside of the main body 10 and the odor is reduced.

The strainable body has a strain gauge, and is disposed in such a way that the longitudinal direction orthogonally crosses the direction of the current running in the induction heating coil.
