PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rice cooker wherein rice-cooking performance is improved by accelerating gelatinization without drying cooked rice.
SOLUTION: The rice cooker is provided with: a bottom guiding coil 3 for heating a pot 2; a lid 8 for covering the opening part of the pot; a steam generation means 15 for generating steam to be supplied into the pot in a rice-cooking process; a steam heating means 13 arranged inside the lid and supplying steam generated by the steam generation means 15 into the pot as hot steam. Since the rice cooker cooks rice by efficiently obtaining the hot steam, rice in the upper layer in the pot is not dried regardless of the quantity of rice to be cooked, and gelatinization of rice is accelerated to improve rice-cooking performance.
