    • PURPOSE:To decrease the fluctuation in the difference in the surface roughness between upper and lower work rolls and to match the timing for changing the rolls by making the abrasion resistance on the surface of the small diameter work roll higher than the abrasion resistance on the surface of the large diameter work roll. CONSTITUTION:The surface roughness of a large diameter lower work roll 3 is made larger than the surface roughness of a small diameter upper work roll 2, and the camber at the preceding end of a rolled material 1 is prevented. The abrasion resistance on the surface of the roll 2 that wears faster is made higher than the surface of the roll 3 by selecting the material and hardness of the rolls in such rolling mill with dissimilar diameter rolls, so that the abrasion wear between both upper and lower work rolls is made equal. The lubricity, etc. of the work rolls are made stable over a long period of time by such mechanism and the rolling is accomplished without generation of the camber at the preceding end, etc.

Hereby, the strip S is bent to the side of the upper work roll 1 of slower velocity on the feed-in side of the rolling mill, that is, the strip surface is inclined to the side of the slower upper work roll 1 against the plane including the axes of two work rolls 1, 2; under this condition, the strip S is fed into the gap of work rolls 1, 2. For the purpose of binding the strip S, a deflector roll 7 is vertically shifted by a lifter 8.

    • PURPOSE:To eliminate a difference between the front and back sides of a strip, and to prevent generation of an L-shaped camber, etc., by reciprocally passing a strip between a central large diameter, driving work roll and small diameter cluster rolls arranged above and below the central roll, and by applying a strecth-and- bending rolling work to the strip. CONSTITUTION:A constant tension is applied to a strip S between a large diameter, driving work roll 13 and the lower multistage cluster rolls A, and a large bending is given to the strip S on the side of a small diameter work roll 7; under this condition, a stretch-and-bending rolling work is applied to the strip S. When a coil held in a coiler 1 finishes a rolling work, the rotation of all of the coiler 1, an uncoiler 25, and each roller, are reversed, and an upper mutistage cluster roll B is moved down; then, the strip S is passed between a small diameter work roll 14 and the central work roll 13 in order to bend the strip S toward the roll 13 side; under this condition, a stretch-and-bending rolling work is applied to the strip S. According to the present method, a single rolling stand can eliminate the difference between the front and back sides, and the generation of an L-shaped camber, etc., can be prevented.
