摘要： PURPOSE:To roll materials of narrow widths satisfactorily by dividing backup rolls to plural pieces, and mounting the rolls respectively freely rotatably with respect to eccentric rings. CONSTITUTION:Backup rolls 14 are supported freely rotatably by means of cylindrical rollers on the inner races fitted to eccentric rings 27. When a pinion 29 is rotated by the operation of a hydraulically driving source 28 disposed to a metal chock 15 for the rolls 14, a rack 30 moves and sector gears 32, 33 turn equally in mutually opposite directions, thereby rotating the rings 27 slightly. As the rings 27 rotate, the axial centers of the rolls 14 displace to deflect the intermediate rolls 13 and work rolls 12 in press contact with the rolls 14, thereby adjusting crowns. The mutually opposed two pieces of the rolls 14 are displaced simultaneously. The two pieces on both inner sides of the rolls 14 which are divided to, for example, 5 pieces, in an axial direction on one supporting shaft 14 have no eccentric rings, and the crowns of two pieces in symmetrical positions of the inner three pieces are adjusted equally.

摘要： PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of edge drops and to improve performance for controlling shapes by using split type eccentric rolls for the backup rolls of multistage cluster rolling mills, making intermediate rolls displaceable in an axial direction and forming crowns at both ends of the rolls. CONSTITUTION:In multistage cluster rolling mills, backup rolls 4 are split to plural rolls in an axial direction of stationary shafts 5a, and the axial centers of the respective split backup rolls 4' are off-centered. Crowns are adjusted by the entire part of the rolls 4' to eliminate medially high crowns. Intermediate rolls 3 are connected to moving devices via joints 3b and are moved axially. Crowns 3a are provided in both end parts of the barrel length of the rolls 3. The crowned parts 3a are adjusted of positions to the end parts of a plate material (a) to be rolled to shorten the effective supporting parts of work rolls 2 and to make the deformation of the rolls 2 in the plate thickness direction by the rolling load uniform and small. By such mechanism the generation of edge drops is eliminated.

摘要： PURPOSE:To form efficiently a ring blank material to an internally and externally toothed ring gear by indexing and forming the tooth profile of a prescribed number of teeth to the blank material between internal and external gear forming mandrels then rolling the tooth profile with finish internal and external forming tools while controlling the position of the blank material. CONSTITUTION:A blank material is forged to a ring shape B smaller than the finish inside and outside diameters. The ring material B is put betwen inside and outside gear forming mandrels 1 and 2 and the preliminary tooth profile of a prescribed number of teeth is indexed and formed. While the ring material A' is held and controlled in the position of guide tools 6' and guide stanchions 7, the material is finish formed to a prescribed diameter and a prescribed tooth profile by means of a gear cutting mandrel 5 and a gear cutting tool 6. The internally and externally toothed ring gear A is efficiently formed by rolling without machining.

The rolls 3 and the rolls 2 in press contact with the rolls 4 supported pivotally to stationary shafts 5a stuck to the chocks 5 are deflected by the displacement of said backup rolls, whereby their corwns are adjusted. The automatic controlling of said devices 16 is made possible by position detectors 20.

CONSTITUTION:In multistage cluster rolling mills, backup rolls 4 are split to plural rolls in the direction intersecting orthogonally with their axial direction. Eccentric rings 15 are interposed between the stationary shafts 5a of metal chocks 5 for the backup rolls and the rolls 4. When pinions 17 are rotated by starting driving motors 16 mounted on the chocks 5, racks 18a, 18b move in opposite directions and sector gears 19a, 19b turn, by which the rings 15 are rotated. This action is accomplished by each of the respective backup rolls except the backup rolls in the end parts. Thus the rolls 4 are pushed out to a projecting shape as a whole, and their crowns are adjusted.
