    • PURPOSE:To prevent the inflow of a back-filling agent by arranging tail seals on the tail part inner circumference of a shield body, circumferentially forming a determined number or more of chambers between the respective seals, and injecting a high viscosity to the forefront chamber and the last chamber, and a low viscosity to the chamber adjacent to the last part. CONSTITUTION:Tail seals 12-15 are arranged in four lines on the tail part 5 inner surface of a shield body 1 in the circumferential direction of the body 1, three circumferential chambers 16-18 are formed between the respective seals, and injection holes 19-21 communicated with the outside are formed in the circumferential direction of the tail part 5. Feed ports 22-24 corresponding to these holes are mutually connected by injection pipes 25-27 extending along the outer circumferential part. The supply source 30 of a high viscosity tail seal filler 29 is connected to each feed port 22, 24 to the last and forefront chambers 16, 18, and the supply source 34 of a low viscosity filler 33 is connected to each feed port 23 to the central chamber 17. Hence, the inflow of the low viscosity filler into the shield body can be prevented.

    • PURPOSE:To shorten working period by projecting outer circumferential bits at determined intervals on both cutter head outer circumferential parts, and providing a movable hood on the front end outer circumferential part of one shield excavator and a ring fixed hood on the front end circumferential part of the other. CONSTITUTION:The cutter heads 14 of both shield excavators 13a, 13b are provided as integrated structures, and a plurality of outer circumferential bits integrally fixed thereto are circumferentially protruded at fixed intervals. A movable hood 16 is fitted to the front end outer circumferential surface of the excavator 13a in such a manner as to be capable of axially sliding, a bracket 19 is protruded on the inner circumferential surface of the excavator 13a, and a hood jack 20 capable of axially extending and contracting is connected to the bracket 19, allowing the advance and retreatment of the movable hood 16. A notch part 22 capable of receiving the outer bits 15 is formed on the hood 16 front end part correspondingly thereto in comb-tooth form, and a fixed hood 23 is provided on the skin plate 17 front end of the excavator 13b. Hence, the space between both the excavators can be certainly clogged by the hoods.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shield driving machine capable of inexpensively constructing a large-diameter tunnel and a small-diameter tunnel from a starting shaft. SOLUTION: A separable and self-contained small-diameter shield driving part 2 is integrated at the center of a large-diameter shield driving machine 1 to form a driving machine, and the driving machine is brought in the starting shaft 38. After a tunnel 47 is constructed through the use of the driving machine, the small-diameter shield driving part 2 of the driving machine is pulled to the inside of the machine and returned to the location of the starting shaft 38 via the tunnel 47 in the shield driving machine. The small-diameter shield driving part 2 is provided in a shield frame 7 of the large-diameter shield driving machine 1 in such a way as to be pulled to the inside of the machine. A small- diameter cutter head 21 smaller in diameter than the small-diameter shield driving part 2 is rotation-freely provided for the small-diameter shield driving part 2. The small-diameter cutter head 21 is provided with a large-diameter cutter head 4 for performing excavation in front of the large-diameter shield driving machine 1. The small-diameter shield driving part 2 is provided with a drive device 11 for rotating the small-diameter cutter head 21.
