    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prolong the life of a guide for wires by simple constitution of equipment by fixing a pipe for guiding running wires by holding the pipe between rectangular parallelepiped members having a V-shaped groove from upper and lower sides. SOLUTION: The rectangular parallelepiped member 12 having the V-shaped groove 18 is installed in a fixing frame 14, the pipe 11 is installed on the member, the rectangular parallelepiped member 13 having the downward V-shaped groove 19 is placed so that the pipe 11 is put between the members and they are fixed to the fixing frame 14 with a cotter 15. When the inside of the pipe 11 is unevenly worn, by removing the cotter 15, lifting the upper rectangular parallelepiped member 13, revolving the pipe 11 by 90 deg. or 180 deg. on the coaxial center corresponding to a wear state and again fixing the upper rectangular parallelepiped member 13, the life of the pipe is prolonged. Because the lower rectangular parallelepiped member 12 is left fixed, when the pipe 11 is placed on its V-shaped groove 18, the center is adjusted at that point of time, the adjustment of the pass line is unnecessary after resetting. Only the pipe 11 is changed, so the changing work is easily executed in a short time. Stainless steel is desirable as the material of the pipe.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the equipment cost, to facilitate the automation, and to improve the working efficiency by arranging a billet-mounting skit on an upper stage of a table roller, and installing a billet extracting lifter movable in the vertical and transverse directions. SOLUTION: Billets 3, 4 are pushed out to the extracting position by billet extracting pushers 8, 9. Three billet extracting lifters 6 which are operated in a synchronous manner are moved under a billet 3 which is mounted on a skit 1 and pushed to the extracting position, and the billet extracting lifters are elevated to extract one billet 3. Three billet extracting lifters 6 are moved under a billet 4 which is mounted on a skit 2 and pushed to the extracting position, and the billet extracting lifters 6 are elevated to extract one billet 4. The billet extracting lifters 6 are moved to the center between the right and left skits, and the lifters 6 are lowered to mount two billets 3, 4 on a table roller 5. The billets 3, 4 are pushed to the carriage position by a billet traverse pusher 11.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress fluctuation of the coiling temp. accompanying variation in rolling speed, to stabilize variation of tensile strength and properties of scale and to improve manufacturing cost by executing feedforward control of the quantity of cooling water in a watercooling zone by differential type control whose control action is faster. SOLUTION: By the deviation between the target coiling temp. directed from a process computer 11 and the measured value with a coiling thermometer 5, the quantity of cooling water is commanded with a controller 6 for temp. control, the opening degree of flow rate control valves is directed with the controller 7 for controlling the quantity of the cooling water and the feedback control of the coiling temp. is executed. The number of revolution of a finishing mill 2 is fetched from the device 10 for detecting the number of revolution of the finishing mill through a sequencer 8 for controlling water cooling into the controller 7 for controlling the quantity of cooling water and deviation from the last data is calculated for every sampling period of the number of revolution. The correction of the flow rate of cooling water is determined from this deviation and coefficients which are decided for every kind of the steel, dimensions and the coiling temp.
