    • PURPOSE:To automatically correct the end face of a grindstone in an optional shape by providing a numerically controlled device to convert the information required to correct the grindstone end face into the required shape with a correcting tool into signals to drive driving units in the driving means of the correcting tool and a grindstone shaft and to output the signals to the driving units. CONSTITUTION:The information required to correct the end face of a grindstone 22 into the required shape is inputted to a computer numerically controlled device 36 to correct the grindstone 22. A control device 36 reads this information and converts it into the numerical information and outputs it to a correcting tool driving means 33 and a grindstone shaft driving means 35 respectively and drives servomotors 32 and 34 of the driving means 33 and 35 respectively. A grindstone shaft 21 and a correcting tool 31 are relatively moved by the drive of the servomotors 32 and 34. The end face of the grindstone 22 is corrected to the required shape, e.g., a shape of two or more different planes, curved faces or a combination of them.

CONSTITUTION:Multistage grinding is performed by changing grindstone 27-29 by revolving a turret head 22. In this case, the revolving center shaft of the turret head 22 is orthogonal with the axial line of the work W held on the main shaft base 6 of the main shaft base table 3 above, so the revolving direction of the turret head 22 becomes in the tangent direction of the work W and the positional dispersement by the revolving of the turret head 22 is generated in the revolving direction. So that, the positional dispersement of the turret head 22 becomes in the tangent direction of the work W and the positional dispersion of the turret head 22 in the radial direction of the work W giving effect on the work working accuracy is reduced. Consequently, the working accuracy can be improved.

SOLUTION: In this in-feed type centerless grinding method for feeding a rotating grinding wheel 1 relatively into a workpiece W rotatably supported by a blade 3 and a regulating wheel 2, to grind the cylindrical outer peripheral surface of the workpiece W, the rotating position of the regulating wheel 2 and the in-feed of the grinding wheel 1 to the workpiece W are synchronized to grind the cylindrical outer peripheral surface of the workpiece W. The relation between the in-feed position of the grinding wheel 1 and the abutting position of the regulating wheel 2 and workpiece W is thereby always constant, and the cylindrical outer peripheral surface of the workpiece W can be ground with high machining accuracy even with rotational deviation on the outer peripheral surface 2a of the regulating wheel 2.

    • PURPOSE:To provide a centerless grinder having a structure by which an assembling width and steps of both grinding wheels can be regulated continuously variably even when the grinding wheels are rotated. CONSTITUTION:A movable side grinding wheel 2 is made independent completely from a reference side grinding wheel 1, and when the movable side grinding wheel 2 is moved in the X axis direction in parallel with a shaft line of a grinding wheel shaft of the reference side grinding wheel 1, an assembling width of both grinding wheels 1 and 2 are regulated, and when the movable side grinding wheel 2 is moved in the Y axis direction orthogonal to the shaft line of the grinding wheel shaft of the reference side grinding wheel 1, steps of both grinding wheels 1 and 2 are regulated. Since the main shaft stand 4 itself is moved, the movement of the movable side grinding wheel 2 becomes possible even when the grinding wheel 2 is rotated, and since the grinding wheel 2 and a grinding wheel shaft 12 are fixed integrally to each other, looseness is not caused in the grinding wheels according to movement regulation of the grinding wheel 2.
