    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce noxious material contained in exhaust gas discharged from a two-cycle engine.
      SOLUTION: This air cleaner includes an air cleaner base 60 provided with a first air intake port 70 communicating to an air fuel mixture passage 54b of a carburetor 54 and a second air intake port 72 communicating to a fresh air passage 54a of the carburetor 54. An air guide member 76 is detachably and detachably provided at the first air intake port 70. The air guide member 76 includes a tip part 76b bent from a base end part 76a by roughly 90° and extending in a lateral direction. The tip part 76a is separated from the second air intake port 72 and is positioned in an area above the same.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reed valve mounting structure of a stratified scavenging engine capable of reducing the distance from the central line of the engine to a magneto rotor, improving balance of the engine, reducing vibration and noise, preventing a machine screw for mounting a reed valve from becoming loose, and tightening the machine screw additionally to improve a maintenance property of this mounting structure.
      SOLUTION: This engine reed valve mounting structure is provided with an exterior body 30 for introducing air attached to the outer periphery of a scavenging passage 15 part, a valve guide 40 having an inclined face part 40b for receiving a basic face part 40a and a swinging piece part 25c of the reed valve 25 and made of sheet metal, a stepped nut member 45 composed of a small diameter part 46 and a large diameter part 47, and a flat countersunk head screw 50 screwed into a threaded hole 48 in the nut member 45. A patelliform recessed part 33a in which a head part 51 of the flat countersunk head screw 50 is buried is formed in an external end part of a screw hole 33, and a fitting hole part 33c in which the small diameter part 46 of the nut member 45 is fitted is formed in an internal end part of the screw hole 33.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely prevent the blowoff of a spark, by forming a blowoff port, for leading an exhaust gas in an expansion chamber to a gap space, on an inner wall panel out of a double wall part forming the outer peripheral part of the expansion chamber; and also an exhaust opening, for discharging the exhaust gas outside from the gap space, on an outer wall panel. SOLUTION: An exhaust gas blown off from an exhaust port 10 is, at least, blown through inside/outside a venturi tube 25, and is introduced into a first expansion chamber 31 at a speed near to a sound speed, to be expandedly diffused to attenuate an exhaust sound, after that, is led into a second expansion chamber 32 via the inside of a catalytic oxidation 50 partitioned by a partitioning plate 40. Outside air is sucked from an outside air introducing pipe 26 by negative pressure, generated when the exhaust gas blows through the venturi tube 25, and is supplied, together with the exhaust gas, into the expansion chamber 31, to promote the oxidizing action of CO. The exhaust gas is blowen off to the second gap space Sb of a double wall part 32A from respective blowoff ports 61, 62, and 64, to be cooled during flowing the gap space Sb to extinguish a spark, and then is led into an exhaust port 37A.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase output without being accompanied with large structural change and reduce total HC components exhaust gas in a Schnuerle scavenging type two cycle engine by setting opening timing of an exhaust port and scavenging ports by the piston to be late to the utmost. SOLUTION: In a Schnuerle scavenging type internal combustion engine 1 used for the power source of a bush cutter or the like, a suction port 7 connected to a carburetor and an exhaust port 10 are provided on a cylinder 2 opposite to each other with step difference, and a pair of scavenging ports 9 are symmetrically provided so as to put a vertical section dividing the exhaust port 10 and the suction port 7 into two parts between. In this case, the opening/ closing timings of the exhaust port 10 and the scavenging ports 9 by the piston 4 are respectively set to be smaller than 130 degrees and 100 degrees in crank angle putting the bottom dead center between. Such setting of the opening/ closing timings is attained by lowering the upper end positions 10a, 9a of the exhaust port 10 and the scavenging port 9 and shortening the separated distance between the upper end positions 10a, 9a.
