摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain improvement of combustion, prevention of contamination of a heat exchanger and the like in an internal combustion engine re-circulating exhaust gas. SOLUTION: In a method for re-circulating exhaust gas to the intake port of an internal combustion engine, part of exhaust gas existing in a combustion chamber 60 of a cylinder 10 of the engine is sent to a first fluid circulation circuit C1 in an engine operation range and remaining part of the gas is discharged to an exhaust gas circuit 24 during engine exhaust stroke. Exhaust gas sent to the first fluid circulation circuit C1 is cooled during engine intake stroke. The cooled and re-circulated exhaust gas is mixed with fresh air AF supplied from an air supply circuit of the engine, mixture of the re-circulated exhaust gas and the fresh air is sent to a second fluid circulation circuit C2, and the mixture sent into the second fluid circulation circuit C2 is cooled before the same is sent to the combustion chamber 60.
