    • PURPOSE:To cast stably and continuously an ingot having a uniform surface by providing a molten metal pouring chamber formed with a molten metal outflow slit port between both side walls along a gate in a casting mold. CONSTITUTION:A casting mold 8 which is open in the upper part is formed of a U-shaped channel formed of the bottom wall 1 consisting of the endless belt and both side walls 3, 4 consisting of the endless belts and a gate 10 provided at one end of the U-shaped channel. The wall 1 and the walls 3, 4 are moved at the same speed in the same direction, by which the ingot is continuously cast in the mold 8. The molten metal pouring chamber 11 formed with the molten metal outflow slit port is provided between the walls 3 and 4 along the gate 7 in said mold 8.

    • PURPOSE:To cast stably and continuously an ingot having a uniform surface by advancing a gate for a specified period in synchronization with a bottom wall consisting of an endless belt and both side walls consisting of endless belts then retreating the gate to the home position. CONSTITUTION:A casting mold 8 which is open in the upper part is formed of a U-shaped channel formed of the bottom wall 1 consisting of the endless belt and both side walls 3, 4 consisting of the endless belts moving at the same speed in the same direction and a gate 7 provided at one end of the U-shaped channel. A molten metal is supplied into such mold 8 and the ingot is cast in the mold 8; at the same time, the ingot is continuously drawn in synchronization with the wall 1 and the walls 3, 4 from the mold 8 inside and is thus continuously cast. The gate 7 is advanced for the specified period in synchronization with the wall 1 and the walls 3, 4 and is then retreated to the home position.

    • PURPOSE:To provide a titled continuous casting machine which permits the easy change in the width and thickness of an ingot and forms the casting to have the smooth surface by providing a rotating roll which contacts with the molten metal across both side faces in the upper part of a casting mold formed of endless belts for the base and both side faces and controlling the height of the molten metal surface. CONSTITUTION:The rotating roll 10 which contacts with the surface 9a of the molten metal across both side faces is provided in the upper part of the U-shaped casting mold 8 formed of the endless belts 4, 5, 6 in the metallic blocks 1, 2, 3 for the base and both side faces. The roll 10 controls optionally the height of the molten metal thereby permitting the easy change of the width and thickness of the ingot. Since the waving of the surface 9a in the stage of pouring the molten metal is controlled, the surface of the ingot 9 is smoothed.

    • PURPOSE:To provide a titled casting machine which eliminates the buckling deformation of plural sets of endless belts moving synchronously in the same direction, permits an increase in width, has a large surface area and improves the cooling efficiency of a molten metal by corrugating the surface of at least the belts facing each other among said endless belts. CONSTITUTION:U-shaped corrugating grooves 23 are formed on the surfaces of at least the endless belts 24 facing each other among plural sets of the endless belts 22, 24 moving synchronously in the same direction. The buckling deformation of the belts 24 is prevented and the increase in the width is made possible; at the same time the cooling of the molten metal is improved by the large surface area thereof. The corrugated endless belts may be applied in the case of the upper and lower endless belts and same holds true of the case in which the endless belts are metallic belts.

    • PURPOSE:To provide a titled lowboy casting machine which produces satisfactorily a steel ingot with easy pouring in a manner as to permit the expansion of the width thereof by pressing an endless corrugated belt to part of the circumferential surfaces of side rings spaced at a prescribed distance and a horizontal rotating roll having a currugated surface and moving synchronously the belt and the roll. CONSTITUTION:The endless corrugated belt 23 is pressed to about 1/4 the circumferential surface of the side rings 26 spaced at W1 and the horizontal rotating roll 22 having the corrugated circumferential surface to form a casting mold 25 and the belt 23 is moved synchronously in the same direction as the rotating direction of the roll 22. The one aperture 25a of the casting mold 25 is a top end face to permit easy pouring. The longitudinal thermal expansion is absorbed by the displacement in the height direction of the corrugation to prevent buckling deformation by which the production of the broad ingot 32 is made possible. Since the ingot 32 is produced under bending, the machine height is decreased.
