    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce in size and ensure an excellent follow-up performance to a valve system cam in a valve gear of an internal combustion engine capable of continuously changing a valve opening lift amount of an engine valve.
      SOLUTION: This valve gear comprises: a rocker arm 18A having a valve abut part abutted against the engine valve 6 and a cam abut part 17 being in contact with the valve system cam 16; a first link arm 19A having one end supported to a fixed position of an engine body while capable of rocking around an axis parallel to a rotating axis of the valve system cam 16 and the other end directly coupled to the rocker arm while being capable of relative rotation around the axis parallel to the rotating axis of the valve system cam at a part where the cam abutting part is arranged; and a second link arm 20A in which a support shaft provided with the axis parallel to the valve system cam is provided at one end, and the other end is directly coupled to the rocker arm while capable of relative rotation around the axis parallel to the rotating axis. The support shaft is continuously movably supported to the engine body.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To keep the high engine output with a simple structure, and ensure the superior sealability of an intake valve or an exhaust value without enlarging a cylinder head. SOLUTION: This cylinder head 1 for an internal combustion engine comprises a combustion chamber 3, intake ports 4a, 5a and exhaust ports 6a, 7a respectively opened and closed by the intake valve and the exhaust valve, and insertion holes 21-28 capable of inserting bolts, and is fastened to the cylinder block by means of the bolts. Cooling water communicating 17, 18, 17', 18' are formed on the positions fitted to straight lines L1, L2 joining centers C2, C3 of the exhaust ports 6a, 7a to centers C5-C8 of the insertion holes 25-28 and straight lines L3, L4 joining centers C9, C10 of the intake ports 4a, 5a to centers C11-C14 of the insertion holes 21-24 in a plane view from a butted face 2 of the cylinder head 1 with the cylinder block. When the circumference of the exhaust ports 6a, 7a and the intake ports 4a, 5a is thermally expanded, the restriction of the thermal expansion by the fastening part by the bolts is relieved, and the thermal expansion is permitted, whereby the deformation of the exhaust ports 6a, 7a and the intake ports 4a, 5a caused by the thermal expansion can be prevented, and the sealability of the intake valve and the exhaust valve can be ensured.

Coupling centers to the rocker arm 18A of the first and second link arms 19A and 20A and the rotating axis of the valve system cam 16 are arranged on the same linear line in a state of closing of the engine valve 6.
