Cooling water communicating 17, 18, 17', 18' are formed on the positions fitted to straight lines L1, L2 joining centers C2, C3 of the exhaust ports 6a, 7a to centers C5-C8 of the insertion holes 25-28 and straight lines L3, L4 joining centers C9, C10 of the intake ports 4a, 5a to centers C11-C14 of the insertion holes 21-24 in a plane view from a butted face 2 of the cylinder head 1 with the cylinder block. When the circumference of the exhaust ports 6a, 7a and the intake ports 4a, 5a is thermally expanded, the restriction of the thermal expansion by the fastening part by the bolts is relieved, and the thermal expansion is permitted, whereby the deformation of the exhaust ports 6a, 7a and the intake ports 4a, 5a caused by the thermal expansion can be prevented, and the sealability of the intake valve and the exhaust valve can be ensured.
